Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I always open all of the windows and spend a day cleaning out closets and dressers to organize for the warmer weather clothing. But mostly right now it’s just keeping everything clean enough while my fiance and I keep up with grad school homework!

CLEAN ME! Oh, Lord, I could use this…Also, all my rituals of cleaning are put on hold because of potty training a 2 year old girl. There is definitely ALOT of cleaning going on, but it is of the organic material kind if you hear what I am getting at!

CLEAN ME!!! I’ve been consistent with my winter cleaning to where I wont have to do much spring cleaning, but I am eager to get my balcony set up for spring (painting or staining my picnic table, planting new herbs & flowers, and other fun decorations). This vacuum would really help take my “Danny Tanner cleaning obsession” to a nice new level though!

Clean me! We have three hairy dogs and a cat so we can use all the help we can get.

I don’t believe in spring cleaning because by that point the clutter/mess is so big I don’t want to tackle it. I do quarterly cleanings and tackle room by room.

just today, i wiped down all the cupboard doors with soapy water and am scrubbing the slatted bi-fold doors with a toothbrush. the doors were here when we moved in and i hate them. scrubbing them with a toothbrush is the ONLY way i can get them to look decent. (shakes fist at doors.)

    CLEAN ME!
Just a few weeks ago we purged our closets…hall closet, linen closet, and guest room…as well as under the beds and my whole dresser. We are probably going to get one more good snow, so after that has passed and it warms up a bit I’ll start my annual “washing of the outside of the house” routine. Yes, that does include a hose, a sponge, and some green cleaner and wiping all of it down by hand. Quite a task, but so worth it. We will also be cleaning each and every window, inside and out. And we’re planning another bathroom reno…as the cherry on top. We’ll share pics when we’re done!

    CLEAN ME!!

I started cleaning yesterday, when the snow here began melting. I’m a SUPER anal spring cleaner. I start at the top of the house (the attic) and work my way through every room from left to right and front to back, all the way down to the basement. Every room gets completely stripped, all furniture and accesories moved out of the room, so that I can reevaluate usefulness and arrangement. So much fun and so very exhausting…

Under way – a huge spring cleaning fest in time for Passover seder. And that means purging closets for Salvation Army, yard sale, and the Junior League Wearhouse. Three separate piles of stuff we no longer need, and they’re gonna be ha-uge piles.
Steam clean carpets, wash the wood floors, windows, and basically make everything sparkle!

My house is never without dog hair. It’s like part of the decor. Now with spring on the way my golden retreiver has been leaving her butt fur all over the place. I thought there was a small animal hanging on the couch the other day, no dice – just butt fur. Lots of butt fur.

I am about ready to tackle the hall closet and then it’s…. dun dun duuun… the toy room. Time to sift out the bits of transformers and cars with no wheels. All to be done incognito, of course, otherwise that left foot of Optimus Prime is suddenly “My faaaaavourite!!”

Looking oh so forward to continuing on with spring cleaning…I always start in the kitchen; cleaning out the fridge (and tossing any moldy left-overs), the freezer, and the stove…which gets used a whole bunch in our house! Then on to the living/dining room…usually some re-arranging accompanies this cleaning process…same goes for the bedrooms and bathrooms…a new vacuum sure would come in handy as our garage sale wanna-be hand-me-down vac has seen better days! : )

I am on the verge of our major spring makeover – cleaning allthe nooks (baseboards) and crannies (windows). We’re pulling up five bushes out back that have died and we are re-landscaping the entire outside of our house. We’re about $250 away from remodeling our LL bathroom (inspired by YHL) and we’re re-carpeting our upstairs, stairs and hallway. This sucker (teehee) would do wonders on keeping that new carpet cleano!
