Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CLEAN ME! My spring cleaning is done. We had all of the carpets cleaned which meant clearing out all of the furniture. What a perfect time to do spring cleaning. Windows washed, garden blooming, baseboards cleaned, blinds dusted, cluttering crap thrown away! AHHHH, it feels so good!

Unfortunately, the big poop pick up in the backyard is our next cleaning project. It’s been a long, snowy winter with few opportunities to get out there and pick up the dog poo. And now the snow is melting and things are getting a little dicey out there for our pups.

Since winter is not officially over until the snow has melted I haven’t even thought about spring cleaning! However, when that first smell of spring hits, know we’ll be doing a full out cleaning ’round here…..walls to windows and around again! That new vac sure would make it more fun!!!!

CLEAN ME! I am getting married in 18 days – so, to say that Spring Cleaning has started would be an understatement! I have gone crazy – closets are getting a makeover, baseboards are getting scrubbed, dishes are getting replaced, etc. My soon-to-be husband is moving into my townhome with me and my 20-lb dog and my roommate and her 80-lb dog are moving out. We ALWAYS have dog-hair floating around at our house… and SHE IS TAKING HER VACUUM with her. The nerve ;) I really COULD use this amazing Bissell to erase any trace of the 80-lb hairy, shedding (but wonderful) canine roommate of mine!

This spring we’re doing it all…the house will be up for sale in May as we ready ourselves to move back home to the Westcoast after a stint in the east. Needless to say, we’re liquidating everything, painting, sprucing and tidying endlessly. That vacumn, and the broom, would sure come in handy dandy.

CLEAN ME … With two fuzzy cats, I’m perpetually Spring cleaning. We’ve needed a new vacuum for a long time and have just been overwhelmed by the choices. We heard the Dyson Ball was good for pet hair, but the $500+ price tag is too hefty. I’m so glad that you found a great vacuum that’s more affordable. I’d really love to win it but, if we don’t, I may just go out and buy it!

CLEAN ME! After all the snow we’ve had in NOVA recently, the yard is looking a bit unkempt. I need to spring clean the yard by picking up all the fallen branches, pruning away the damaged parts of the shrubs, weeding the beds…and I want to transform my back yard into a dog park for my pooches – complete with some agility-like playground thingies for them to jump around on.

Time to start spring cleaning..we had our 3rd baby about 10 months ago and we are behind on organizing and deep cleaning! Our 3rd baby (Jack’s) clothes have been hanging out in bins all over our tiny master bedroom! It is time to tackle organizing our older son’s closet to include his baby brother’s clothes!

We also need to clean our 50’s rancher’s windows and dust the window blinds! Our rancher is all carpet so this bagless HEPA filtered Bissell would be a HUGE treat! :) Pretty please pick us with 3 young kids we need a help from this Bissell to snap things back into shape around our rancher!

I have already started the “Spring Cleaning”, I start on the first nice-ish day and the goal is a perfect house for Easter. I take it room by room and piece by piece; first walls and windows, shelves, etc. Then closets or storage then floors. Every piece of fabric in the house gets washed. Everything feels soooo clean when I’m done; it’s so worth it!

I have two very long-haired cats (I measured a hair I found on my bathroom floor…over 5 inches) who shed a lot!

I moved into my first house last June, so my new spring cleaning ritual will be planning a garden! I really can’t wait for the snow to melt so I can get out in my yard and do stuff. But this early spring, I want to make sure the inside is clean, too–finishing painting and unpacking boxes! And I cleaned out my bedroom closet this weekend. I’m hoping to clean out the storage closet this coming weekend!

We just bought an 1895 Victorian in January, and finally the snow has melted enough for us to do a walk around the outside. Cannot wait till the total thaw so that we can get to gardening!

CLEAN ME! Spring is in the air here in NY. With a three year old and a 1 year old tugging at my legs…it can be tough to clean, but I solved that problem by buying two little brooms and my little ones now ‘help’ mommy sweep the floors! We’ve already begun cleaning out the garage, packing up clothes to donate, and I’m happy to say my MBR closet is no longer cluttered. Our vacuum actually bit the dust (HA!) a few weeks ago and we’re desparate for a new one. Our kids are cute, but the tend to be a little messy.

I’m a clean freak…if you ask my husband. He doesn’t believe I know what spring cleaning is. He thinks I’m a constant cleaner! I would say for spring cleaning it a process…7day process! Starting with day 1 just picking up around the house, day 2 master bedroom, day 3 our 2yr olds bedroom, day 4 bathroom…

Usually I do a huge spring overhaul cleaning in our apartment from windows to closets. But since we’re moving into our new house early summer I’m putting it on hold until we’re cleared out of there and then really clean it up for the new tenants. Plus all those rugs in our new house have to be cleaned toO!
