Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

holy crap, this is an awesome giveaway. ok, my cleaning rituals start with the removal of any snow man themed item. next we go to the sunroom, where the many windows and windowsills get scrubbed. my cat loves to sit in the windowsill, like actually in it, and i don’t see how she isn’t uncomfortable with the jamb or whatever poking her. thank goodness this past weekend was nice enough to open a few!

We are just finishing up a major kitchen renovation and I cannot WAIT to deep-clean my house. A new vacuum would work wonders on all the dust that’s in every nook and cranny. It’s the first spring in our new house so we’re planning to deep clean, unpack(!) and plant some perennials and shrubs that we’ll enjoy for years to come. Happy Spring YHL-ers!

    CLEAN ME!!

Every year, never fails, I have this urge to completely change up everything in my house. It’s not so much the clean the walls, floors, etc. it’s the furniture needs to be rearranged, pictures hung in different spots, new stuff, and so on and so on. It’s like I’m nesting every spring! :)

Wow what an awesome giveaway!! I’d actually look forward to cleaning ;) My spring cleaning started with cleaning out underneath the beds of my 12 and 10 year old boys. Once that was done I can do anything…from there it’s going on to organizing my home office and hall closet. I love your inspirations and ideas. Keep up the great work!

We’re pretty good at keeping our household clutter-free but I’m always surprised by how much stuff accumulates and how full my garbage bags are after a spring-cleaning.

Such great timing to “CLEAN ME”. I just started the search for a thing they call a Vacuum! Truely, cleaning and I are not a match. I would rather mow the lawn! However, the dreaded deed is always lurking so finding a new vac is on my search list. Number one look for feature…a hose. Mine doesn’t have one and now with wood floors its a must! So, if I don’t happen to win this little jewel…I’ll be checking it out in the store. It would be so nice to have you call and tell me I’ve won it instead!

OH…my tip for spring cleaning tired baseboards? I took an hour of time and ran a fresh coat of paint along the hall. That area is High Traffic and is a focal point in route to the bathroom! It actaully gave me joy to see it so fresh looking! Just wished I had that hose attachement to prep clean it!

    Thanks for the fun blog!

I spring clean before Pesach (Passover), to get rid of any and all chametz (leavening). This means every drawer, every cupboard needs to be emptied and vacuumed. Any trace of dust has to be gone in order to fulfill the mitzvah. So I could use the help!

We’re in the midst of cleaning our floors (which is why this giveaway is so appealing!) A simple vacuum job won’t quite do it though…for the last 6 months, we’ve been housetraining our puppy Bojangles, and now that she’s finally catching on, our carpets are going to need some serious shampooing!

    CLEAN ME!!!!

This will be our first spring in our first home so spring cleaning rituals will be all new to us. I imagine we will be doing the usuals…window washing, definitely need to give the fridge a good cleaning and eventually start the yard work. The yard work may have to wait a little seeing as we live in the country with the #1 hockey team and it’s still a bit cold here.

Also that pet hair broom looks fabulous. We have a cat who sheds like crazy, I am forever sweeping hairs that form little tumbleweeds all around our house.

    Thanks :)
