Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Whoa! Lots o’ comments on this one!! This should prove w/out a doubt to Bissell that this site is a worthwhile advertising investment!

Spring cleaning in my apt = cleaning out & organizing all the cupboards…. and possibly shelf paper!

    CLEAN ME!

For me, spring cleaning mostly involves cleaning out my closet and dresser-drawers to get rid of clothes I haven’t, won’t and don’t wear anymore. I give them away to charities that need them.

Also, hopefully this spring will see my boyfriend and I moving in together, which means I’ll have to move all my stuff out of where I am now, which means thoroughly cleaning everything. I’m not a cleaning-loving person, but I’m really looking forward to this!

I’ve never done spring cleaning before! I’m a new mom and a new fiance and am still learning how to do it all! But, my goals for spring is to get our back yard ‘forrest’ into a back yard again in time for my son’s august birthday, get a lovely garden going and get all of those icky areas you forget about! Baseboards and air vents!!!

I know it’s not quite the same – but my hair seems to get everywhere so that broom might just be PERFECT for me! Plus, I’ve been looking for a new vaccuum, and was thinking of the Roomba… but I can definitely be persuaded otherwise.

Spring cleaning well underway at our humble abode…however since my upright vacuum has all but gone kaput on us, I’m relying on my hand held for the small jobs. So far I’ve even started a small container garden too! Oh and thanks for the DIY on the compost bin…I made mine this afternoon =]

Great giveaway! Our rituals consist of moving all of the furniture away from the walls, vacuuming/sweeping every surface of our home, and cleaning all of the baseboards. It’s back-breaking work but it really pays off!

CLEAN ME! We so need a good vacuum that doesn’t blow dirt out!

Here at our house, my children and I began a little spring cleaning in their rooms today. We started in one corner of each room, then created three piles: keep, trash, give-away.

Most of the stuff was old artwork (trash pile and keep for display), toys (keep pile and give-away) and clothes (give away and dirty clothes basket).

It felt good to have their rooms neat and organized with lots of room for them to play.

I like to make a list of all the little spaces in my house that need help. Night stand drawer, silver wear drawer, laundry room cabinets (sometimes i’ll list those one by one)…..that way if I have a spare 15 – 30 minutes or, gasp, a couple hours of “free time” in-between taking one of three kids to school or activities, I can tackle one thing at a time…..AND check it off! Although I have to admit, I do enjoy those days where you stay in your jammies all day on a mission to clean one closet that turns into cleaning every closet at the same time! And then someone delivers a package or something and i’ve got the CrAzY hair going on and they’re all like…oooh, sorry for your state of appearance. Yah. I like those days :-)

CLEAN ME!! I have 2 little dogs and 2 big cats…cleaning is my life! hahaha It’s kind of like having kids who don’t pick up after themselves…always expecting me to…HA!

I love the whole ritual of spring cleaning…I always feel so good after. Here are some of the things I do to freshen it up: Clean (really clean) baseboards and corners – floor to ceiling. I usually give doors (inside) a fresh wash or coat of paint if too marked up or smudged..it is fast, dries fast and is easy. I like to take screens off and give them a once over with a sponge and a hose and soapy water. I vacuum out the sliding glass door tracks and then wd-40 or graphite them so they run smooth. Oh yes, I know how to have party!

CLEAN ME! After a colder-than-usual winter here in Texas, a few gorgeous days in the high 60s made me jump right in with cleaning things up in the yard. The damage to our plants from the freezes has been cleaned up and we can already see the new green leaf growth peaking up out of the soil. It won’t be long though until our hot spring and summer temperatures kick in and then it will be time to focus on the inside!

Actually, My roomies and I are in college and already started our spring cleaning because don’t want to leave with a messy apartment before Spring Break. Of course, we still have a lot to clean (remember college? everything gets dirty so easily!) and it doesn’t help that we have a hand-me-down vacuum cleaner that only works half the time! Anyways we have so much more to do, but the first thing on the list is the closets and a deep fridge cleaning. This would be the best spring cleaning gift ever!
