Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CLEAN ME! No spring cleaning has really been done. Basic stuff like fixing up the bathroom and the dog’s hair everywhere. A ritual is listneing to music while cleaning though. :)

    CLEAN ME… PLEASE!

I only wish I could be getting ready for the garden. Minnesota still has way too much snow :)

Instead, I’m finding that I’m sorting, getting rid of things we do not need, and reorganizing. Closets, cupboards, under the sink… there is no safe space!

My fiance and I have a german shepherd and the dog hair is unbelievable!!! This vacuum could really help our problem. We were in the market for a new vacuum, but a FREE ONE is always better!!!!

    Thanx,

    CLEAN ME!

I’m currently in the process of going through stacks and stacks of papers that have accumulated in our home and dividing them into “recycle,” “shred/recycle,” and “keep” piles. Honestly, if my boyfriend didn’t make me do this every once in a while, I’d probably end up on that Hoarders program.

Xmas tree is coming down during Spring Break…I’m a teacher and work an extra job, so I don’t have any time to clean, etc. If I can tear myself away from my new Goodwill obsession and all the great decorating blogs, I just might get some real cleaning done.

Oh, how I long for this vacuum/broom combination! Two month ago we bought a beautiful 100% wool rug (to replace our flat woven rug since we have a new baby and his head needed a softer landing place). We absolutely love it, except it sheds…constantly. Not like a little fuzz here and there, but like our furniture covered in a fine layer of wool at all times. I’m sure this super vacuum and broom combination would help shear the rug!
As for spring cleaning, I am a big fan of going drawer by drawer and closet by closet, room by room until the whole house has been cleansed of unwanted and useless junk (via donations and/or Craigslist). Last year I was pregnant and nesting – this year, I have to figure out how to do it with le bebe.

Ah rituals, always purge purge purge at the beginning of each year. We do this while putting away Chrismas decorations. Otherwise the weekly cleaning ritual includes lots of music, and a sugary thank you sweet treat.

    CLEAN ME

We’re working on clearing out our “library” (spare room/office that has been the home to all of our books as well) to make it our 1-year-old (as of yesterday!) daughter’s big girl room so that her new baby sister (due June 18th) can have the nursery. It’s going slowly since we have a 1-year-old and my husband works full time and is in school for his MBA but we’re making progress!

Pick me! : ) I just got a dog for my little boy and I have forgotten how much more you need to vacuum with having a dog in the house. Also, I put an offer in on a townhouse, anxiously awaiting whether I will get it or not. So MY spring cleaning would be packing up and moving to a new place!

The most spring cleaning we’re planning so far is opening all the windows to air out our apartment. We just moved in this August, so we haven’t had time to accumulate too much crud. However, we desperately need a vacuum! My little handheld shark vac isn’t cutting it any more. Thanks!

I desperately need to start on my spare room that has turned into a catch-all room. I cringe every time I see the guest bed covered in empty boxes that I’m holding on to “just in case”, the incredibly huge pile of papers to shred, the vast amounts of kitty litter that get kicked out of the litter boxes every.single.day.
