Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Clean Me please

Our spring cleaning includes wiping down the walls and mopping the floors of every room. We usually start this the end of May and it usually takes a good Two weeks to do all the rooms.

    CLEAN ME

I hate cleaning base boards and before I begin I’m thinking I might try paying my friend’s 10yr old son into coming over and scrubbing for me. After college, I cleaned my mom’s friends’ homes for extra cash; this vacuum would have been great then and I’d love it now.

We have two wonderful dogs – a Golden Retriever and a Lab who we LOVE but who leave us with constant “tumbleweeds” of their hair. This never-ending sheding was somewhat bothersome before but now that we’re preparing for a new baby we feel more compelled to keep things cleaner and this vaccum would be a HUGE help (especially since my handy husband tried to replace the rubber belt himself and it’s too small so now our house smells like burnt rubber for a day or two after each time we vaccum). So this would help us jumpstart that spring cleaning that I know we should be doing.

My husband and I have been married for a year and a half and we still don’t have a vacuum! My spring (and summer and fall and winter) cleaning ritual is emptying my closets and taking an IKEA bag full of things to Goodwill. I am somewhat obsessive about getting rid of things as I bring more things into the house.

CLEAN ME! I’ve recently started working on cleaning out our backyard. We bought our house in November and inherited with it some beautiful flower beds, but messy beds at that. So this past weekend we spent all day Saturday and Sunday raking, digging, cleaning, dividing irises, and are worn slap out. I worked again this morning in the yard, finishing up the task of dividing irises and replanting them.

We’ve been doing more spring-painting than spring-cleaning, but in the process of painting we end up wiping baseboards and cleaning behind furniture that hasn’t been moved in a while. That should count!

pretty please! I love to vacuum and with a puggle that sheds like crazy, it’s impossible to keep up with all the hair. I’m in the process of putting away all of the winter decor items and breaking out the spring items–and of course cleaning in between. How I’d love a new vacuum. A little too much.

CLEAN ME! I have a little baby who is about to start crawling any day now and two cats who shed terribly (plus a messy husband!) I need all the help I can get!

Spring means it’s time to refold the quilts. If you have quilts in your household, they should be rearranged, refolded, or restored periodically to prevent the fabric from getting damaged. We take advantage of a nice day to hang them out for air, and then pick spring colored quilts to display, and refold the others.

Hmm…Spring Cleaning for me will be simply de-cluttering and eliminating junk. Unfortunately this is a constant struggle in thsi home not limited to just Spring Time. If I can get all the clutter off the floors, maybe I could actually vacuum. Or maybe if I actually liked my vacuum i would get the stuff up off the floors. :)

This prize sucks and I want it! I’m not sure how, even though I have 1 huge dog and 2 furry cats, I haven’t heard about the pet broom before. I would love to give it a whirl across my hardwoods.

In my house, spring cleaning ritual definitely includes opening up all of the windows on the sunshine-y, but brisk spring weekends. Also, I really wanted to follow your lead on the closet clean-up over the weekend. I have the bug to organize BAD right now, but I’m on crutches and can’t really walk on two feet for the time being so I have to wait a while. I’ll catch up soon though.

Thanks for the chance to win!

    What a fabulous give away!
I have been going through my closets specifically the one by our main entrance and cleaning, taking out all the random, loose hats and mitts that have fallen (ok let’s be honest more like thrown) in amongst all the dirty boots and shoes. I’m really hoping I’m not jinxing the good weather we have been having by doing this and packing up all our winter gear. Also going through all my kitchen cupboards and organzing them again(like putting the lids with the containers etc) and giving them a good clean down.

I would totally love to win the vacume as we just adopted a Golden Retriever over the winter (Max!)and it’s a bit of work trying to keep on top of his shedding especially as our vacume cleaner is super old and has lost it’s sucking power!! I am a bit of a neat freak so I’m having to be extra conscious now!
