Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

The Bissell Pet Hair Broom looks like a dream, as our man-bear-pug sheds a pug puppy a week. Tumbleweeds haunt me.

We purchased our house a year ago, but didn’t get around to doing projects as we got married five months ago. So, we’re doing massive cleaning. Replacing the vinyl fooring in the kitchen and the pretty raunch carpet in two rooms are our main priorities.

    CLEAN ME!

My friends and I just had our annual group/family yard sale that always jump starts the spring cleaning. I love going through all the closets and weeding out anything we haven’t used in the past year. I feel so much lighter and unburdened afterwards and the extra cash never hurts!

I moved my bed to clean behind the headboard and to flip the mattress. There were serious dust bunnies that my sweeper had a hard time picking up. Ew.

A few times a year I start a goodwill pile and systematically go through all the closets looking for items that I no longer need or use.

    CLEAN ME! Yes! Me!

My MIL bought me a “kit” of cleaning tools from Don Aslet for Christmas. Once I got over the fact that my MIL bought me cleaning tools, and what that must mean, I was super excited to use them! One of them is a telescoping window washing tool kit and I’m so ready to clean the outside of all of my windows after looking through their dinginess for what I hope is the entire winter (meaning that I hope now I can say I’ve seen the last of it!)

CLEAN ME! My sister is a professional organizer and owns her own business. We’ve hosted a couple clothing swap parties and they are great fun. People come and go with a ton of great finds and we donate any leftovers to Goodwill. A little sangria or spike lemonade always make the event a good time.

With 2 small children I am in constant need of a vaccuum that works well and can clean up their daily messes. My old (and heavy) Phantom just doesn’t work as well as it should and I am in need of something that can stand up to year-round cleaning that a family of 4 requires.

We have already started our spring cleaning! We recently purchased our home that we had been renting from my parents for the past 2 years. It used to be my grandmother’s home, and apparently over the years people had stored several random items here. As soon as we closed on our houses, we invited all the family over to get their stuff out (in a very sweet way) so we could start making it our own!

My husband and I just started our official vacuum hunt today (after Saturday’s cleaning sesh left the old one smokin’… in a bad way) I was super-excited to tell him that you were raving about this bagless vacuum on your site, and he asked, “How is it with pet hair?” just before John answered it in the post! Fun. So I’ve done SOME spring cleaning, but need a new vac to really get things going! Thanks for doing the giveaway!

Along with cleaning all the nooks and crannies that get overlooked in weekly cleans, I like to completely reorganize something that’s not working in my house. This is usually a closet or drawer that I take everything out of and find a new way to organize.

My husband and I have been cleaning out everything – kitchen cabinets, closets, the garage, etc. Most recently, I cleaned out all of our bathroom drawers and cabinets. I bought some nifty little drawer organizers and threw away everything we do not use (that could not be given away). It is SO refreshing to be organized and clutter-free!

I have a Shark, but I could really use a good sturdy sucker to get in nooks and crannies. My spring cleaning the past few years has involved cleaning everything off to box it up to move. This year will be no different, we will be moving in a couple of months (tops) and will have to go through the clean and pack ritual all over again.
