Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have no rituals yet – see I’m in a new house, with a new dog, and my six and a half year old boy. I am a single mom in our first house, and I sure could use some cleaning help:)

I always start with purging….the closets, cabinets, everything. It always feels good to have less clutter around, light and airy like spring.

    PLEASE CLEAN ME!

Our only pets are dust-bunnies, and we fight an ongoing battle for dominance over them.

As for spring cleaning, we moved here just last August but I think we’re already due to clean out some extra stuff we have in our closets. And the files! Our files are a holy mess. Maybe if I win I will just vacuum them up. :)

When I move my winter clothes out of the closet, I try to get rid of the ones I never wore. I take the opportunity to go through my drawers and shoe rack too! I’d like to be better at actually getting rid of things, but this is the time of year that I really try!

Starting eggplants, peppers, and onions indoors. The hard part? I’m in the middle of trying to buy a house and hopefully move into it sometime soon. So I’ll be cleaning twice! HELP!

Also, now that my dog has made friends with my roommate’s lab over the last couple years, I’m pretty much required to buy him a new playmate. Two dogs and a cat in a tiny Baltimore row home… HELP!

Please pick us. We have a 15 month old, cook every night (which makes us feel like our house is ALWAYS dirty and we have a 15 year old dog that is “drippy”. She makes everything dirty. This is our cleaning ritual.

    I cry.
    I yell at my husband.
He knows that means I am stressed about how dirty the house is.
    We spend our weekend cleaning.
We fall in love all over again.

I just love the idea of having this powerful machine to do my vacuuming with. Each Spring, my husband and I buy 2 ferns for hanging on the porch, shop for flowers and plant them out front. We also pull weeds and refresh the natural areas. I do the closets and put away all things winter, then take out all the beautiful pastel decorations for Easter and Spring.

    CLEAN ME

Every year I clean my closet. It is so cleansing to get rid of the old and most importantly bring in the new :) New clothes that is! I also like to cleanse out my papers/books etc. I am about to graduate with my masters degree so this year will be a big CLEAN OUT! I can’t wait to get rid of all those papers and tests that are weighing me down. This year is also especially important becuase I am getting married. I have to make room for my fiance’s stuff… Maybe I should make him spring clean too.

We just bought our first home, and before that I’ve moved once a year with the exception of a two-year stint in a basement apartment, so we don’t really have any rituals yet. The windows in our old house DEFINITELY need some work, though, and actually, the exterior does too. I’m sort of looking forward to some purging and cleaning. Thanks!
