Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Actually finished up a good spring cleaning of the whole apartment a little early this year thanks to all of those snow days and a week long visit from the in-laws!

I am decluttering and doing major cleaning room by room. I have excess furniture and stuff-so I am moving those out, then doing baseboards, floors, the whole thing! And my year old chocolate lab sheds so much!!!!

    CLEAN ME BABY!

I have already re-painted the bathroom, my son’e room, my kitchen, and my bedroom in the last two weeks (thanks to inspiration of your blog). I cleaned out and organized both my and my son’s closets as well as the linen and “junk” closet.

I cleaned out the dreaded junk drawer in the kitchen. Yikes. After painting all the bedrooms and such, the stinking junk drawer is what sucked the most life out of me. Isnt that just pure silliness???

I don’t have a ton of clothes but I am really into the whole idea recycling your clothes into something new so I am going to pull out all those ideas I have buried in the closet. wish me luck!

I’m getting ready to move soon, and so right now I’m in the process of purging about six years’ worth of files. I keep Everything out of compulsion really, it’s easier to just stick stuff in a drawer than to figure out if I actually need it. Sad. But, I definitely don’t want to ship a half-ton of useless paper, so… here I am!

    CLEAN ME

I don’t really have a “spring cleaning” ritual because, unfortunately or fortunately, I’m pretty neurotic about cleaning year round!

I will say, though, that our furry friend, Moose, sheds…a lot. Said fur accumulates in little tumbleweed like clumps and collects in the corner of every room! Because of this, I’m constantly running around the house with shop vac and crevice tool in hand trying to capture all the tumbleweeds!

Spring cleaning is underway in our house with the usual closet reorg and clothing donation marathon. Also floor deep cleaning and paint touch ups. What is most fun for me is watching the spring bulbs blossom and thinking about the garden this season. Special project this year: front porch paint and beautify thanks to your inspiration last summer.

Tidying up is one thing, but doing a deep clean each week is not always possible. I am constantly trying to keep up! My mother-in-law asks me if I need her to clean my house every time she calls! I never thought my house was that dirty. :) One of these days I am going to take her up on her offer!

CLEAN ME! We already own a Bissel carpet cleaner and love it…so having a lovely vacuum cleaner to go with it to clean up after the 2.5 year old would be excellent! This weekend with the finally warm enough weather, we went outside to tackle raking up some of the weeds that threaten to keep our lawn from growing nice luscious grass!

    CLEAN ME.

We’re planning to put our house on the market in just three to four weeks – so Spring cleaning must take on a whole new meaning. We have to “stage”, i.e., clean like crazy people, every room in our home – including closets, pantries, and cupboards. Isn’t it funny that your house is looking its best when you’re about to leave? Maybe we should get in the habit of staging our homes to simply make living in our homes more enjoyable! :)

CLEAN ME! Since I live in a small apartment, I don’t have much closet space. So each season, as I change out my wardrobe, I take the opportunity to clean out my closets. Throw things out that I didn’t wear that season or things that have seen better days.

I’m itching to start the spring cleaning, but my stepson is home for spring break and it would just be cruel to ruin his vacation. So if it’s still this temperate on Wednesday I’ll clear out the garden bed where my crocus, daffodils, and tulips are starting to come up already.
