Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Please Clean me!!

My spring cleaning goes on year round – everytime I put away laundry I end up pulling out 5-10 things that I don’t want anymore, and they either go into a Plato’s Closet (resale shop around here) or Goodwill pile!

(Good thing I don’t put laundry away TOO often!!)

This is our first spring in our new house, so we have a lot to do…clean everything, get more organized, get our baby room set up, plant our gardens, build a better chicken coop for our new baby chicks, design a better laundry room…that’s just off the top of my head, we have a really long list! Love your blog!!

Awesome giveaway! I need one so bad b/c our vacuum sucks (not in a good way). Right now we’re re-caulking our guest bath tub, which is taking forever to remove all the old hard caulk. I could go on, but this is already starting to sound dirty.

I don’t really have spring cleaning projects – although I did shop vac the front porch and scary stuff in the unfinished basement this weekend. My big project is to finish painting the trim indoors before it gets nice enough for me to start outdoor projects – its my first spring in my new house.

And I have lots of cat hair…so the broom would be awesome.

Wow – I was just cleaning my floors and checked the fab-freebie giveaway – what a great idea! I could use a new vacuum, and once late March arrives and the real cleaning begins (up here in Gold Medal Hockey Country it’s still snowy…) this would come in handy!

We could really use a new vacuum cleaner since I’m currently using my mom’s old seafoam green Hoover Decade 80’s with edge lighting. It must weigh 30 lbs!

Even though spring isn’t for a couple of weeks, and the weather man uttered “chance of snow” on the news last night, Spring Cleaning projects are springing up all over. Both at work and at home, I’m known as the cleaner, and constantly straighten, organize, go through and clean anything around me. Next big project is going through closets to clean out and donate clothes, maybe a little paint job in the living room and some overall re-decorating (who says cleaning can’t equal decorating! ) Thanks & good luck to everyone!

My husband recently bought a 1955 Ranch Style home in Southern California that was vacant for 13 years! We ripped up the carpet to find beautiful hardwood floors underneath. Unfortunately, we don’t have a vacuum, and as I’m sure you know, the dust never goes away, especially when it’s been sitting for so long! We’ve resorted to using the shop vac inside the house until we can afford a new nice vacuum, or until we win one..hint hint!
Our spring cleaning has been in full effect since September, and is going to be the theme to our first year of homeownership! Thanks for the great tips, you guys are awesome!

We’re thinking of getting our condo association’s social board to organize a “spring cleaning” swap meet and yard sale as a means for people’s junk to become other peoples’ treasure and raise money. Not to mention it will foster social interaction among the neighbors.

My husband and I have been talking about getting a new vac (in addition to the Dirt Devil Kurv we’re about to get too thanks to your tip) and I just told him this weekend that we needed to get this one because it got good reviews from YHL! How fun! Anyway, the only Spring cleaning I’ve really started on is dusting practically every day while electrical work is being done in our house. Next up is our bathroom remodel… I imagine the dusting isn’t going to end anytime soon?!?!? =)
