Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!!!

I really need this vacuum. My other ones are not working well. I want to clean every nook of my apartment but can’t because of my vacuums not working well.

I am currently unemployed and can’t afford another vacuum right now. My new adopted kitty is shedding and making such a mess. If she wasn’t so adorable, I would probably mind more than I do.

Please give me this vacuum. I would appreciate it so much!

The yard has been our top priority the past couple of weekends; weeding, planting, racking, mowing… you name it we’ve done it!!! Lost a few battles along the way, we have one less tree and the bushes may or may not have received a bad hair cut, but we are learning as we go! This is the first summer in our new house!

Our dirty casa is full of hair thanks to our border collie Sugar and our siberian husky Aries. My new cleaning ritual (and hopefully it doesn’t stop after spring) is to sweep the hairy kitchen floor then use the extension on our vac to clean the perimeter , including that dark part scary creavace next to the fridge, then mop with the magic eraser mop and good ole’ pinesol. Phew!

    “CLEEEEEEAAAAN ME!”

Seriously…please clean me. I just married the world’s greatest, most loving, most handsome husband a few weeks ago and moved into his charming, dusty, qauint, old, 1920’s bungalow. In addition to these wonderful additions, I am now the proud owner of the sweetest, cutest, slobberiest, danderiest english bulldog known to man. I am not, however, the owner of any kind of vacuum. This Bissell would be awesome for the newly founded Anderson home!

Oh please CLEAN ME!! Our cheapo vacuum is on the verge of meltdown and we desperately need a new one! The pet broom looks amazing, we adopted a long haired cat last year and I never knew something so small could shed so much!

As for spring cleaning, I’ve already moved out our fridge and stove and have scrubbed behind them, and undertook organizing our mess of a hall closet. Now to tackle the real mess- our bedroom closet. Urgh. =)

My husband and I just finished the final touches on a $13,000 energy improvments “springtime spruce-up.” Our state has a rebate program for energy improvements, so we’ll be getting $7,000 back (fingers crossed)! A new boiler, hot water tanks, four new windows, new front door, new insulation in the attic, caulk and seal….it’s been a big push but our home is cozy and ready for spring!
