Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

Yesterday was gorgeous so husband, baby and I worked in the backyard. I pulled weeds while baby helped husband throw grass seed on the lawn.

    Clean me!!!

My favorite cleaning thing to do is vacuum- I have two pomeranians and an assortment of foster dogs coming through my house!

But my spring cleaning (that I actually have to do twice a year in the damp northwest) that I love to do is cleaning the mold off of the windowsills, and spraying them with Lysol so it won’t come back right away.

Spring is a time for cleaning out closets and junk drawers and getting rid of stuff we no longer need. Started in the bedroom and moving on!

Clean me!!! We are doing a kitchen facelift right now so not alot of spring cleaning is happening yet. Usually, I throw open the windows, turn on the Bob Marley and Buffett tunes and declutter. After everything is decluttered, I get down to business with some serious cleaning including windows, baseboards, tops of cabinets, etc.

    CLEAN ME!

My husband and I live in a tiny one bedroom apt in San Francisco, so I feel like we are in a constant state of spring cleaning, but we definitely have a one ritual this time of year, our annual paper clean out. We spend an evening with a bottle of wine, our wicker filing cabinet and tiny shredder. We get rid of any unnecessary paperwork that has piled up over the year and pull together everything we need to file our taxes.

My new spring-cleaning ritual is the 40 bags for 40 days of Lent. I’m slowly removing 40 bags worth of “stuff” from the house to either be trashed, donated or sold in an order to declutter the house. Makes spring-cleaning that much easier!

    Thank you for the giveaway!

CLEAN ME! My usual spring cleaning routine is to clean out my bedroom closet. I move all the winter clothes to the parts of the closet that are harder to reach while moving the Spring/Summer clothes within reach. Unfortunately though, I’m still waiting for the chilly temperatures to leave before diving into this project…and I live in Florida!!

What spring cleaning adventure have we NOT taken on?! That’s the better question. Seedlings are planted, multiple trips to Goodwill have been made, added a baby room, painted multiple rooms, and so much more. A new vacuum for the many puppy fur balls on the floor would be sweet!

“Clean me!” yells our floors after reading this post! With 2 adorable pups and an inside-only cat, our poor purchased-to-clean-dorm-rooms-not-our-first-house vacuum cleaner is ready to bite the dust.

We are getting ready to buy up some of the discount tile from Home Depot and get to work on our kitchen, sunroom and 2.5 bathrooms. I think the baseboards can wait to be scrubbed until after the tile is installed! The yard and flowerbeds will be another big spring project. As a fellow young married couple in our first house, we love seeing everything you two accomplish!

I have THREE adopted pups, and more dog hair than Carter has pills! I don’t cook at all and my poor husband is left in the kitchen to fend for himself, but I LOVE to clean and vacuum! Our poor vacuum was a hand-me-down when we were married 4 years ago, and it barely works. Need a new one in order to keep up on the dog hair dilemma…Counting down the days until Spring Cleaning…

CLEAN ME! I’ve been searching for an affordable HEPA vacuum that does well with pet hair. We have 3 cats – Frank, Sammy and Dean – and I just found out last week that I have an allergy to dust mites :( which explains the “cold” I’ve had since last may. Just in time for spring cleaning, I guess.
