Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Clean me!

We have a four month old baby and are kept constantly busy looking after her, so the only thing on my Spring cleaning list this year is our white wood blinds.

Clean Me! My current spring cleaning project involves going through the house, purging all the things we really don’t use so we can have a yard sale. And of course, the biggest purge – tackling the basement which has filled itself to the brim with junk during the winter somehow.

I do a major closet/dresser drawer/kitchen drawer/etc organization and purge of the junk they collect throughout the months. I like to feel fresh and clutter free for spring and summer!

I need to tackle the closet under the stairs which serves as our attic – sort, donate, throw away, organize and (hopefully) put everything back in the closet. It’s a monster!

    Clean Me!!

This Bissel sounds like it can hold its own against the uber-expensive Dyson vacuums.  I’d love to win it!!  My large living room rug and all the carpet on the second floor would be oh so grateful!!

    Spring cleaning rituals:
    1. Cleaning out the garage (following your step by step).  This will be a first — and since we’ve been in the house 5 years, there’s a lot of crap in there!!!
    2. Cleaning all windows.  I’v ready for the sun to STREAM on in!
    3. Refresh rooms with new paint and accessories.  Trying to build a cohesive color scheme now!!

Would you ever believe that our vacuum broke the same week you wrote the initial post, and we’re planning to buy this at the end of the month? What a treat if we win it for free! Certainly would help with the interior spring cleaning – I focused this weekend on blowing all the leaves out of the yard to get ready to plant our first garden!

CLEAN ME! (Is it bad that the pet hair broom has me drooling?)

I’ve already started getting my hands dirty in the garden…and trying to will the grass to grow again after all the snow killed it. I’m also volunteering with my local SPCA’s yard sale, which always results in a major purge of junk. My windows are open today for the first time this year, and the fresh air has me planning all the projects that will surely keep me busy until next spring!
