Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I started with the closets, organizing and throwing out clothes, and the next step is the garage with a future garage sale in mind!

I would LOVE this vacuum! We have 2 yellow labs, and it is a chore trying to keep their hair at bay! We will start cleaning our closets and underneath the bed soon! Just trying to get everything in order so we can get it over with!

    Thank you!

I bought a Dyson 6 mo. ago and as far as suction, its there, but it is a very difficult sweeper to use. The extension wand is a bear. I am very anal when it comes to vacuuming my floors. We too are big dog lovers and have two so I am always sweeping. As a matter of fact after a hospital stay, hysterectomy, I wasn’t allowed to push my vacuum. My floors were screaming “CLEAN ME” and as dear as my husband is, sweeping is not his thing so for two weeks after my surgery I crawled on my hands and knees with a shipping tape dispenser and taped all the dirt up in my house every single day!

    CLEAN ME please!

I actually just bought this exact vacuum as a result of the perfect conditions existing: it had been on our short list of potential vacuums to purchase; I had $75 in gift certificates to amazon.com; and then you two recommended it. SO if random.org pics me, I am not sure what I’d do, but I sure would enjoy that pet hair broom as well – my wood floors produce dust bunnies prodigiously.

I am getting ready for spring by selling the Japanese Maple in my backyard that’s in the perfect spot for a veggie garden, and planning where to plant and re-plant everything around my yard (we’re getting rid of a hard-to-mow-around island garden that’s ugly anyway, and a big, ugly shrub that encroaches on our driveway). Some of the cool plants will be relocated to elsewhere in the garden, but the nondescript ones that don’t even flower are just getting tossed into the ol’ yard waste bin.

Outside clean up is the name of the spring cleaning game around here. With six acres of land, it kind of has to be! It usually involves removing wood detritus from the patio and sprucing that up a bit, and my favorite….gardening! My other half has promised me he’s building me new planting boxes this year…yippee!

I really need this vacuum! I just moved from Washington to my very own apartment in CT and I sold my pitiful old vacuum to my old roomie.

Every year in the spring I go through my clothes/shoes and donate everything I haven’t warn in the past year to Good Will. Helps me clear out some closet space and feel pretty darn good!
