Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

My husband and I just bought a house and moved last weekend. It’s an old place, so we are definitely doing A LOT of cleaning everywhere.

    CLEAN ME!

The first thing I do to get ready for spring is go through all my winter clothes and determine what I don’t wear any more to give away. Then I pack up everything I can’t wear in the summer and get all my summer clothes back out! Of course, the yard always gets extra attention this time of year with planting bulbs and such.

Icleaned my closet this weeked and got rid of 5 bags of clothing and shoes (which are being donated since half the stuff isn’t more then a year old)! Next up is my hubby’s closet which is just a complete disaster, then on to the guest room and the office. WHEW! I’m pooped!!

    CLEAN ME!

Pretty Please! We are a few weeks away from our one year anniversary in our house and it’s amazing the amount of stuff we’ve already accumulated! Last week we cleaned out/reorganized the basement, this week we’re tackling windows and removing some unneeded closet doors, next week we’re hitting IKEA to fit out a library which will be converted to a nursery one day and then to a shared office once we’re done having babies! In addition to all that fun spring time stuff, we’re starting our first garden ala the Square Foot Gardening approach – Happy Spring!!!

I’m currently taking down the winter window coverings and exchanging them with lighter, fresher, and all around spring-ier coverings and giving those windows a scrub. We are finally going to repaint our kitchen. Also, we are constantly cleaning the floors since our furry friend is shedding her winter coat.

    Clean me!

Part of the springtime ritual of cleaning involves purging ourselves of all the unnecessary things we’ve held onto – from clothes that don’t fit, to kitchen appliances that we haven’t used since the last spring cleaning.

It would be fantastic to actually have a vacuum instead of sweeping and sweeping and sweeping everything and still seeing pet fur hanging around.

    Love the contests!

CLEAN ME – I try every spring to at least take all of the curtains down and wash them and clean the baseboards too, but right now I am in the super nesting mode. We are expecting our third child and this time around my nesting mode hasn’t stopped at the babies room. I am currently trying to tackle the whole house, except I keep jumping from one project to the next. We’ll see if I can finish all of these projects before our new little one arrives!

WOW- you wouldn’t think a vacuum giveaway would be something to be giddy about, but you’d be wrong!! My husband and I live in a small apartment with 2 shedding cats and I feel like I NEED this giveaway. I am cleaning up cat hair what feels like everyday and I hate to say it but I dont even OWN a full size vacuum. I have a little handheld dustbuster & I’m tired of breaking my back. And since the vacuum is YHL approved I dont think I can go wrong. PICK ME! CLEAN ME!

My big TO-DO for spring cleaning is definitely making sure every thing has a home. I think it’ll help me stay way more organized than I have been in the past!

Clean Me! Since we still have at least a foot of snow on the ground the only spring projects we can get started are in the house. On the list of “to do’s” are the following: write a list of upcoming big house projects; take all cushions of the couches and vacuum ever nook and crany; clean windows and put screens back in place; and go through all storage areas to see what can be given away or thrown away.
