Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CLEAN ME!! I would love to win this, but not for myself…my baby sister is leaving for college in the fall, and a new vacuum is on her list of college needs. It would be a fantastic graduation gift although maybe not what she would be expecting from her favorite older sister :)

Yep, we too have been going through a reorganization/purge stage, room by room. We are on the last room and of course it has a few items in it that we just couldn’t decide on from the other rooms in the house (where to store it? give it away or keep it?). I can’t wait until we finish!!

Spring cleaning around my apartment means moving the furniture out of the way and sweeping and mopping like crazy. I have 4 kitties (not on purpose, but I can’t say no to a stray) the dust bunnies here multiply quickly.

Oh my gosh. My 25 year old Oreck (inherited from my mom) died and I need a new vacuum. As a soon-to-be-wife–six weeks and counting!–I don’t have a spring cleaning ritual, yet. But I may adopt one (or several) from previous commenters!

CLEAN ME! We actually started our spring cleaning yesterday when we re-arranged our living room. We were able to clean the entire room because at one point, every part of it was completely empty…plus it’s like we have a brand new living room- just by switching the furniture and tv around! Talk about a cheap (actually completely free) DIY project that gives you a lot of proverbial bang for your buck! OMG- that broom is incredible. We have a 75lb Golden Retriever who, I’m convinced, waits until a room has been cleaned to run in there and roll around until he gets his fur all over the place again. It’s a good thing he’s co cute!

The biggest To Do on my list is washing the baseboards/paneling in all of the rooms. I vacuum the dog hair almost daily but I just don’t have the time (or patience) to scrub those hair magnets every week :-) Aside from that I am really looking forward to working in the garden again. Can’t wait for the peonies!

    CLEAN ME! Please!
Dog hair, everywhere! We moved to a new house which has beautiful hardwood floors that we LOVE. But man, does our dog shed! The carpet in our old house must have really hid the hair because it is everywhere here, all the time. No matter how much I sweep, with a non-dog hair lifting broom :) I’d really like to win THAT!

Spring cleaning ritual-new for this year! Brush the dog daily because he must be shedding his winter coat!

OMG I soooooo need a new vacuum! Every spring in North Carolina I love getting to wash my windows. However all NC ladies who know, know that you don’t DARE wash your windows until after mother’s day….they may be gunky and getting on your nerves, but the pollen is so bad until after then that washing prior to mothers day is just a wasted effort. So HOLD out dear North Carolinians hold out no matter how badly you want to clean those panes!

CLEAN ME! I do deep cleanings regularly throughout the year, but since it was 60* on Saturday, I dug cat poop and pine needles out of my raised garden bed and sprinkled a week’s worth of used coffee grounds over the dirt. Supposedly, that will keep cats from pooping where I grow my food.

I’ve cleaned out my closet of items I haven’t worn in over 2 years. I always blame that “one day, I’ll fit into [insert jeans or blouse]” but I decided to grow up and just give away 3 black garbage bags filled with clothes away to GoodWill.

If I actually do lose my goal weight, I’ll be able to buy myself a reward that will actually fit in my closet now! :)

CLEAN ME, PLEASE!!!!!!!! Although I’m not the designated vacuum operator in the house, we (ahem, my hubby) have to vacuum oh-so-often because of our furball dog. Spring cleaning this year will include cleaning out our attic closets and getting said hubby to purge all of his college books and notebooks from 3 years ago that he can’t seem to let go of… yeesh.

Husby and I just spent some time working in the yard this weekend and we have lots more to do! There is a new fence in our future, so we are trying to whip everything into shape for its arrival (and by arrival, I mean we’ll be spending days on end ripping out the old fence and installing the new one ourselves!).
