Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

Nothing underway yet since it is still winter in Chicago! But I open on all the windows on the first possible weekend day and clean EVERYTHING with music blaring and a spring breeze flowing through the house.

My husband I are doing all kinds of spring cleaning, including getting the gard and yard ready and washing all the walls and windows. This vacuum would be a real life saver considering we have a black dog and a white dog, and they both shed.

    CLEAN ME!

I must go through the closets every spring to donate the clothes I don’t wear often enough. Otherwise it gets out of control. And, this isn’t really cleaning, but I pot a bunch of pretty spring plants and flowers to put on my windowsills (I live in a NYC apartment, so anything colorful helps).

    Clean ME!!

Spring cleaning has included organizing all those nooks and crannies that are still messy from moving into our house a year ago. I’ve been organizing the cleaning products under the sink, the shelves in the laundry, linen closets, etc.

Up next is the garage. A couple weekends ago we donated a truck load of stuff. I’m still in the process of making the floor plan and then it’s down to business again.

PLUS – we need a good vacuum, instead of the cheap one we have from our wedding!

CLEAN ME…our floors are almost literally yelling this at us! Spring cleaning is currently underway in our home and, in addition to the usual sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping, this year we have the super fun extra step of removing paint from our hardwoods! (We haven’t yet reached the point in our reno of refinishing the floors…and we let ourselves get a little too sloppy when we painted the walls!)

I’ve been clearing out the kitchen of things we don’t need and next up either the media/office wall (we need a very long desk) or the closet (needs better storage/organization options). I’ve been on the lookout for a smallish and cheap full vacuum since all we have is a small handheld right now (similar to your small one).

I like to go through one room at a time and clean from floor to ceiling. No moving on til that room is done. You take one room each day, I can be done in a week!

I am in the market for a new vaccuum because I am adopting a Labrador this month–and I just know my current vaccuum isn’t going to cut it once I bring the furry new addition home! I also tend to spoil dogs by letting them on every piece of furniture, so the on-board attachments on the Bissell would be great! While I’m certain I won’t win the giveaway (as my chances are currently less than a tenth of a percent with two days remaining–yes, I’m a nerd), I will definitely look into purchasing this vaccuum and pet hair broom!

My spring cleaning obsession revolves around the kitchen, I have a creepy love of removing everything from the cabinets and drawers (especially the silverware drawers) and running the vacuum hose in all the corners. Just another reason why I need this Bissell. :)

It’s funny this should come up today. I just cleaned my very large mudroom closet this morning and I spent the afternoon admiring it. I have been smiling all afternoon. We are a family of four but somehow I found 11 pairs of ski goggles. I donated (already dropped off) many jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens that we have grown out of. I measured the cubbies in the mudroom to get boxes that I can put it to keep the junk from showing. Cleaned all the dustbunnies that had accumulated off the floor as well. Tomorrow… my son’s room!
