My Spring Cleaning mainly involves going through my closets and trying to get rid of stuff that I don’t use. The couch could also use a serious cleaning to get pet fur out of the nooks and crannies. Note to readers: a tan dog with a dark brown couch is a bad idea.

… we finally saw some sun in oklahoma this weekend and it got me very excited for spring. one of the first spring cleaning rituals i have is to pack away all my coats and sweaters and pull out my sandals and tank tops that i’ve been missing. but i’ll be waiting a few more weeks before i start that until i know spring is here to stay!

I love to go through my closet at the end of each season and get rid of the clothes that I didn’t get around to wearing that season. I either donate the clothes or take them to a local resale shop. This keeps my closet up-to-date and gives me plenty of room to stock up on next season’s gear.

Spring cleaning thus far has been in the yard. We had some bad freezes in Houston this year & I lost a lot of things I’ve had for years. The trash bags keep piling up by the curb while I try to figure out a new plan for the greenspace!

This weekend was the first ncie weather we’ve had since winter started. My favorite ‘spring cleaning’ thing to do on the first nice weekend of the year is to throw open all of the windows and dust/vaccuum/mop everything in the house. Even though it wasn’t exactly warm out, all the sunshine coming in and the fresh air circulating makes the whole house feel SO much nicer after being completely shut up for the winter.

It is our first spring in our house, so we have a lot on our plate. Currently, we are working on cleaning the walls we just stripped wallpaper from. Then spackle, sanding, and finally painting! We just purchased our first home this past December, which means this will be a first spring with a yard! So with spring just around the corner we are making plans to clean up our backyard, to include trimming trees, clearing out debrie, racking up years of leaves the previous owner never cleaned up, getting grass to grow under the layers of leave, and building a firepit!! So we are itching to get out of the house and into the yard!!!
