Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    “CLEAN ME”

Well living in Fargo, ND we are heading towards another major spring flood…So…our spring cleaning is consisting of organizing the main and upper levels to prepare for any water we may have in our finished basement…

I love spring cleaning. I’ve recently been working on organizing and decluttering our closets (pre-YHL challenge!) and basement. Once it warms up a bit we’ll be working on outside spring cleaning chores like the yard and the garage. Can’t wait for spring!

    CLEAN ME!!!

My Spring Cleaning mainly involves going through my closets and trying to get rid of stuff that I don’t use. The couch could also use a serious cleaning to get pet fur out of the nooks and crannies. Note to readers: a tan dog with a dark brown couch is a bad idea.

I recently started swapping all cleaners when they run out to Method products. I had every intention of working on cleaning out closets this weekend but with beautiful 70 degree weather, we made it outside w/our 3 year old instead. Can’t say it wasn’t worth it!!

CLEAN ME! I’m busy going through my 5 boys’ clothing, cleaning their closets, doing a little decor update, and cleaning the carpets. We are also planning on moving in a year so I am systematically going through each room and purging anything I might not want to move. I LOVE spring cleaning!

I love to go through my closet at the end of each season and get rid of the clothes that I didn’t get around to wearing that season. I either donate the clothes or take them to a local resale shop. This keeps my closet up-to-date and gives me plenty of room to stock up on next season’s gear.

Spring cleaning thus far has been in the yard. We had some bad freezes in Houston this year & I lost a lot of things I’ve had for years. The trash bags keep piling up by the curb while I try to figure out a new plan for the greenspace!

I’m also making piles to Freecycle. Decluttering is extremely liberating.

This weekend was the first ncie weather we’ve had since winter started. My favorite ‘spring cleaning’ thing to do on the first nice weekend of the year is to throw open all of the windows and dust/vaccuum/mop everything in the house. Even though it wasn’t exactly warm out, all the sunshine coming in and the fresh air circulating makes the whole house feel SO much nicer after being completely shut up for the winter.

It is our first spring in our house, so we have a lot on our plate. Currently, we are working on cleaning the walls we just stripped wallpaper from. Then spackle, sanding, and finally painting! Can’t wait to get to painting so we can move all of our furniture back to where it belongs. Once all the snow melts here we can start working on our yard!

I spring clean both spring and fall and love organizing as many rooms as I can which includes giving away a lot of clothes and accessories. Our ext project is our laundry room which has floor to ceiling bookcases and needs an overhaul!

Oh my goodness, I hope I win. We SO need a new vacuum! I’ve been monitoring prices of vacuums with great hepas since ours doesn’t have very good sucking power, is very heavy and is super noisy!

    CLEAN ME!

We just purchased our first home this past December, which means this will be a first spring with a yard! So with spring just around the corner we are making plans to clean up our backyard, to include trimming trees, clearing out debrie, racking up years of leaves the previous owner never cleaned up, getting grass to grow under the layers of leave, and building a firepit!! So we are itching to get out of the house and into the yard!!!

Also, thanks for all your inspiration, as a brand new home owner, I read your blog like the bible when it comes to ideas for each of our new rooms!!!
