Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We live in a very old house with a very sheddy cat – this vaccuum would be perfect for getting all the dust and cat hair that accumulates through our long Canadian winters.

I’ve got to wash the windows, clean out the garage, and commit to gardening this year. Every year I say I’m going to make our yard beautiful and I never do – that’s going to change this year!!

I am a total nerd because I love spring cleaning. I make the fiance go out for the day I turn up the tunes and clean every nook and cranny. My cleaning starts on Saturday! Its a lot of work but the results are worth it.

CLEAN ME!!! =D No special rituals going on at our house — we just clean when need be. Although, not a cleaning ritual per se, I get really crazy about making my bed. Half the time I don’t because it has to be absolutely PERFECT if I make it. Every sheet, cover, pillow has it place. Must be tucked in just right. It literally takes me about 10 minutes to do this one simple task. =P

I have an English SPringer Spaniel and she sheds horribly. She is really bad this time of year and in August. Anything to help clean up the doggie hair would be wonderful. I love spring and spring cleaning. We have a 3 season sunroom. I am itching to open it up. My husband was repairing a few spots on the ceiling then will add a fresh coat of paint. We will be back in my favorite room soon enough.

It’s just me in a giant 1500 square foot house, and my brother recently moved out of the house. I moved from the small bedrooms into the master, and moved all of his stuff from the master into another one of the smaller bedrooms. This spring, it’s all about getting my old bedroom, and the bedroom with my brother’s stuff cleaned out and ready for guests, family, or whoever needs to crash over. Of course the usual washing of the windows, purging of the bookshelves and of course–the closet.

My favorite spring cleaning ritual is “opening up our front porch”. We practically live on our front porch all summer long, but first we have to power wash the floors, wipe down all of the surfaces, and bring out all the furniture.

CLEAN ME! Spring around our house involves switching out wardrobes – cold weather to warm weather. With four kids, I take a day for each child. We go through winter clothes and save things that might fit for next year, or for hand me downs. Then we go through the “grow into” box to see what we have for the upcoming season and what needs there are. Then, when the kids are all ready to go, I can swap out my closet!

We are preparing for our first baby and trying to get our house into sellable condition to boot! So I’m trying to organize and box up the mess that is the basement, paint all the molding in the house and maybe give a fresh coat to all the rooms as well, wash the windows, clean out the closets and toss all the clothes I never wear, and get the garden ready for planting too (you know, in case we can’t sell the house and need to eat!)
