Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I am so so looking forward to cleaning the windows. Man, I can’t wait. Chicago winters are not pretty. How nerdy is that?

haha. the clip of Wayne’s World & the Suck-Kut immediately popped into my head, “It certainly does suck”

But seriously, that pet hair broom looks awesome. They had something similar at a Home & Garden Show a couple weeks ago; I stood by and watched the demo, and it truly does work – I just didn’t want to spring the moohlah at the time.

We kicked off our spring cleaning yesterday by picking up all the dead branches that had fallen over the winter, and tidied up the yard (raked another batch of leaves, etc)….we’ll be tackling inside projects when it gets a tad warmer so we can open all the windows and get the winter funk out.

    Oh my goodness, CLEAN ME!

I am 36 weeks pregnant and on complete bedrest —- not exactly ideal for the spring (and pre-baby) cleaning that I’m itching to do. I keep a relatively clean house throughout the year, so I don’t have any typical spring cleaning rituals but my urge to nest this year has me dying to shampoo the carpets and dust, dust, dust!

Spring cleaning is well underway here. I got ambitious and managed to clean the closets in February, so now I am on to painting the dining room, re-caulking the downstairs bath, getting in a good deep clean of the whole house (with my trusty mop and scrub brush in hand!), washing rugs, exterior windows, etc. And the big post-snow-melt yard clean up. But I love to do this stuff, so it’s like Christmas for me :-)

Well, here in Vermont, we still have almost two feet of snow so most of our cleaning won’t be happening for a while. In addition to all the interior cleaning (our carpets are a mess thanks to our lovely dog!), I also do a lot of stuff outside – raking, gardening, setting up the porch and rolling out the grill. Can’t wait for spring!!!!

My vaccume is old and not working as well as it once was.. what a treat this would be!

this spring clean is all about preparing for the new baby coming this summer! Mainly going through all the closets, basement etc and getting rid of anything we can to make more room for baby! We could def use a new vacuum and broom as ours actually stopped working this weekend in the midst of my hubby trying to suck up some spider webs from the basement :s.

Every year I do a sweep of closets, the kitchen pantry and cabinets. Basically the things that seem to end up at the bottom of any to-do list because they are hidden. I clean, organize, donate and throw away lots of stuff that piles up over the course of the year!

Well, we not only have to do Spring Cleaning, but we need to do some serious purging and rearranging for our first baby on the way! This will mainly consist of turning our office/junk room into a nursery, and getting WAY more creative with storage. Oh, and scrubbing baseboards and cleaning curtains and that sort of icky stuff.

While I am yet to start on any *serious* spring cleaning, what I have been doing is getting all of my pet supplies organized and clean for my two furbabies. I’ve been re-purposing old containers and placemats for food dishes, getting on a more rigid schedule for cleaning and shopping, and trying to find creative ways to save time — like with a vacuum that actually works (instead of spitting out pet hair everytime I suck it up)!

we bought a house this winter that had been vacant for a year. we weren’t able to clean up all of the leaves (and there were tons of them – it is a corner property!) before all of the big snowstorms this winter. so yesterday we got started on shoveling up all of the wet, smashed leaves. next up are the dead bushes and crawling vines. we have our work cut out for us!

    “Clean me”

I feel very whatevery about Spring Cleaning, but I’m a renter…this time of year means long days getting longer and longer up in northern Canada and time to do seed selections and start planning rasied bed plots! Lots of plants need a head start up here but do great. We have a short growing season, but intense due to the 22 hour daylit days/nights!

Also, incidentally, we have two cats and we get dust buffalos roaming around but the end of the week. Go bissell!
