Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!! PLEASE!

We stole our friends’ idea titled “The Saturdays of Spring” where on each Saturday of spring we declutter and deep clean one room in the house. That way we’re thorough but it’s not overwhelming. At the end, we either have a stuff swap party with friends, huge yard sale or donate it all to a worthy cause.

I’m going to be paring down this spring by donating a lot of older winter gear and simplifying as much as possible. My fiance and I are planning on moving soon and the less we have to move the better!

We haven’t begun spring cleaning yet, but I’m dying to go gung-ho (with the windows wide open — love getting the fresh air in and the stale air out!). I’m also excited to start my first garden since childhood. :-)

Like a few others have said, this will be our first spring in our house. I am most excited about getting our garden ready and working in the yard! I’m hoping to try composting too (thanks to your informative posts)!

Of course, our windows and base boards need a good cleaning too!

This would rock. I have allergies, and two cats and spring arrived WAY early in Washington this year, so a HEPA would help out so much :S

This weekend, spring cleaning mode was officially on. Started out with a scrub of the fridge, reorganizing our storage room, and going through clothes to decide which will be given to Good Will. I secretly love organizing, so it was a good time…

Every spring, I clean out my closets, purge my sewing room stash of fabric, clean the windows (inside and out) and deep clean the kitchen – I don’t enjoy doing it all, but it feels so good when it’s done!

    CLEAM ME! PLEASE!
In our Spring Cleaning Ritual we start by going straight to the source… our Cat. She has been vacuumed several times in the last week and her fur was brushed numerous times. She absolutely loves the process and believe me it make it so much easier on everyone else in the household.

She is the most beautiful British Blue (long hair) that sheds in Spring like any other furry pet… Now that she is vacuumed, I can tackle the rest of the house. I’m up here in Canada, so are you sure the Spring is on it’s way?
    LOVE your Blog!

I don’t have any usual spring cleaning routines but with the abundance of sunshine that spring brings, I do more cleaning than usual. Right now I’m feeling the itch to organize every nook and cranny of our house and get rid of the junk! What is it about sunshine that brings out the clean freak in all of us?!

My husband and I just bought a house (…well, we just moved in to the house we will buy once the closing dates stops being pushed back), so we have LOTS of spring cleaning to do. We’re remodeling the kitchen, painting every room, and ripping up all the floors. Our spring cleaning tasks are simplify and organize, donate old clothes and shoes, make a compost, get started on the garden, landscape the front yard, finish the screened in porch, etc.

Love your blog! It’s really helping us find inspiration, motivation, and hope!

CLEAN ME! We recently put our house on the market. In preparation for this listing, we made a list of all the little things that needed repair and/or sprucing up. We spent about a month tackling all of the projects on the list. Every time we would finish a project on the list, we would think…why didn’t we just do this before when we weren’t moving? So for the new house, I have implemented a new rule. Every spring and fall we will take 2 weeks to make a similar list and tackle the projects. That way we can enjoy our house while we live in it. :)
