Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

We put our house on the market and got a good spring cleaning in before we did that. We’re buying a new house with more square footage and more carpet, so this would be great!

I desperately need the pet hair broom! I bought a 6 week old dog from a pet store thinking it was a pit bull…a few months later it didn’t look much like a pit bull. Come to find out it is a German Shepard!!! I really need that broom! :)

    lol

My spring cleaning starts with the garage. I take out everything and get it all organized. It seems to get messy around Christmas and New Years.

Next, I flip my mattresses and clean under the beds…

I did my spring cleaning right after new year’s. I just got on a kick and wanted to start the year off right. I reorganized every single closet and cabinet in the house!

This freebie is fab! My current vacuum doesn’t suck – which totally sucks!!

The sunshine in my neck of the woods over the past few days makes me want to head out and clean the yard. Lots of branches came down over the winter, and it’s looking messy! Plus, being able to get out and work in the yard makes it feel like spring is that much closer!

The big spring cleaning ritual I have underway in my house is cleaning the dust from all the blinds and ceiling fans in the house! With you puppy Chauncey continually running in and out to the backyard, it seems like we have more dust than usual this year. I would love to use a NEW VACUUM CLEANER for vacuuming my blinds. :)

I have two Samoyeds who are beginning to blow their winter coats now. I can literally fill two big garbage bags with all the fur when I work out the undercoat. They destroy a vacuum cleaner every two years, on average. Please give me this one to replace the one that’s almost ready to go!
(Oh, and spring cleaning? I get on a magazine disposal kick, usually, as the first sign. Next come the closets.)

CLEAN ME! This is NOT a 2nd entry – please delete my 1st one! I hit send before I told you my cleaning plans!!
#1 – I’m donating winter clothes BEFORE I put them away for the spring – that way I don’t have to store them over the winter! If I didn’t wear them at least once since last October, OUT THEY GO! And I’m doing the SAME thing with the spring clothes I take out – if I didn’t wear it last year, the odds are I won’t wear it thise year – OUT IT GOES!
#2 – I REALLY need a new vacuum cleaner – I have 4, and not one of them is younger than 24 years old!!! They have virtually no sucking power left!
    PLEASE PICK ME!!!

We almost bought this vacuum right after you posted it, but didn’t have the money in our tight budget. We’ve already started on some major spring cleaning, but to be honest, I’ve never really had a routine before. I think I finally got tired of searching for what I’m looking for and had the urge to purge. It just so happens to be spring.

I have a small kitchen and bathroom, my ritual for cleaning them is somewhat methodical. Start with sweeping, go through with a Swiffer wet jet, and then on my hands and knees I use a wet rag soaked in bleach (with gloves on, of course!) and baking soda to get the cleanest floors.

That’s how I beat the grime! :) Love the blog, keep up the great work.
