Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

My parents are moving back to the states soon and the fix-er up-er house they bought needs some major work done to it. It would be the best housewarming present ever! (After I took it for a trial run of course!)

Spring Cleaning huh? Is it already time for that? Kidding! In preparation for the sale of our first home, we have been cleaning everything. My husband is a closet stuffer, so that has been our biggest challenge (I mean, who doesn’t love to look in the closets when looking at homes? To me they are a big selling point and reflect the personalities of the former home owners, clean and organized means they took care of the place and had pride in it).

Iwould love the pet hair broom (well both), that should be a separate giveaway!

    CLEAN ME!

Our vacuum just tanked a few weeks ago and we’ve been procrastinating on spending the money to buy a new one. We settled for a $10 second-hand find that has been doing the job.

There’s just some things that we can’t stand dropping money on… and a vacuum is one of them. This freebie would be a God-send.

Clean me!Please, please clean my carpets! I have a long haired cat and an English bulldog that sheds all the time. For spring cleaning I am always sure to clean the windows and walls at the bulldog level because her sneezes end up everywhere! Kinda gross, I know.

    CLEAN ME.

we are bordering on crazy cat people with THREE cats (two long haired maine coons and one fat calico). there are fur tumbleweeds floating around our wood floors pretty much constantly, and our old vac isn’t cutting it.

i do a decent job decluttering my closet and wardrobe every three or four months, but our office is on my radar next. with a little one on the way, the office will be converted into a nursery, so all of the nonessentials must go! it’s a tough job because i’m a practical, get-rid-of-everything type and my husband is a little bit of a pack rat.

This weekend we had a gorgeous day here in Toronto so I cleaned the balcony! You would be amazed how many lady bug shells and pine needles managed to accumulate there over the winter!

As for the inside of my apartment, my white-furred cat makes sure to spread his love all over my black area rug! We love you too.

We moved into a new home approximately two weeks ago. Our vacuum cleaner died a week later. It did a terrible job on our carpets, and we’d known for a while that we needed a new one. So Bissell’s giveaway — yay to YHL and Bissell both! — is perfectly timed. I’m keeping all fingers crossed…

Clean Me! Please! I started my spring cleaning back in February – wishful thinking one of our many snowed-in weekends. :) Last weekend I tackled my fiances “paper/junk corner” and this weekend I tackled our closet – you can actually walk in without tripping now!

My fiance tells our friends that cleaning is my favorite hobby, so it came as no surprise that I’ve already started moving furniture out (tough to do in such a small apartment) to clean behind everything before it’s time to really get to work!

If only I had a vacuum cleaner that sucks! Ours barely picks up the dust, so I end up sweeping, vacuuming and swiffering to try and get all the dust…it never lasts for long! I’d love to have a vacuum cleaner that does the trick. We’re hoping to get another dog soon (my rescue dog died a few years ago and we’ve been waiting until after we get married to get another one), and that broom would be amazing!

    Fingers crossed! :)

    Clean Me!

Pictures — lots of family pictures need to be sorted through and organized. I already took all pictures out of family albums and frames and I categorized pictures into general areas. Next I must decide which pictures will go into an online photo-book that I will have printed for each child (three grown children) and then organize the rest of the pictures to put in each of their memory-boxes (which I created and organized last year–HUGE project). Lots of scanning ahead as many of these pictures were taken before CD’s and I no longer have the negatives. I would much rather clean any closet or even clean the entire garage!
