Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

I live in a 800 sq foot apartment so spring cleaning only takes me a few hours but I turn up the music really loud, open all the windows and try to make it fun!

    CLEAN ME!

So far the only spring cleaning I have gotten into is cleaning out 1 closet. I need to get a move on, new baby in the house though so not sure how much is going to get done.

I have a Bissel, we bought this weekend. Like you I fell in love with it. We have affectionately named her “Bissy” and it’s seriously the best sucker around. I am pleased that it’s an affordable, well funcitioning, light-weight piece of loveliness!

    CLEAN ME!

My spring cleaning routine has started – completely emptying my closet, sorting out clothes to keep and donate. Phase two of this first project is to reorganize my office. I work from home, and my glass, L shaped desk serves as a catch all…for, well, everything!

Also – you guys have really inspired me with the eco friendly cleaning! :)

    CLEAN ME!

As a self-diagnosed OCD (I prefer to call it CDO, because all the letters are in alphabetical order as they should be) clean freak, spring cleaning can be a weekly ritual for me. However, I do like to reorganize my closets and drawers at the start of each season (putting clothes in order of type, and colors are arranged in a ROY-G-BIV manner). Also, I like to clean out my school notebooks and binders at the end of each semester, only keeping things I may need it the future and recycling the rest.

I guess a nice way of putting it is I’m a bit of a clean freak. I’m a visual person so if my house is a mess, I have a hard time relaxing (does this mean I need therapy?).

Clean me! My favorite “spring cleaning” ritual is switching out my winter clothes with my spring/summer clothes! My very small Chicago apartment has basically NO storage. I keep my “seasonal” clothes in clear plastic bins underneath my bed. I love the annual seasonal switch out which I usually do on a rainy weekend every April. Because I have no storage in my house, the vaccuum would be extra helpful to keep the apartment clean and free of dust bunny clutter!

    CLEAN ME!

With two medium-hair cats, life is never dull. I am constantly vacuuming up kitty hair and cleaning up various “accidents” (shattered plant pots, shredded kleenex…)from their playtime scuffles.

Spring Cleaning is more of the same along with purging as much as possible!

Two german shepherds means the cleaning never stops. However this year I’ve also been sorting through every room (it is a slow process) and trying to get rid of the accumulated stuff that we don’t really care about that is just taking up space. We donate it to the thrift store and I love knowing that we aren’t just storing a bunch of junk.
