How excited are we to be giving away a Model One Radio this week? You probably know that our cheery yellow one is one of our favorite things that we’ve bought for our new kitchen (more on that here). Sure it’s been dubbed “the best sounding table radio ever made” by some (MSNBC in this case), but our love for it stems first and foremost from its looks. It’s one good looking radio. But that’s not to say that we don’t crank up the radio (or an iPod playlist thanks to the auxiliary input in the back) and enjoy a family dance party every now and then…

My husband, daughter and I love to listen to our local baseball games in our kitchen over dinner! We also love to tune in to NPR (not my daughter so much). I’ll crank up the top 40 hits for her to sing-a-long too. Who knew 4 year olds loved the black eyed peas? The less time I can get her to watch TV the better!

The radio is used for everything from NPR (Nice when you’re home alone or driving alone) to bonding with my 16 year-old son through cheesy pop songs. You Tube and Sirius Radio are great, but I love how good, old-fashioned FM stations keep you kind of connected to the now, instead of allowing you to live in the bubble of songs you already know and love.

I didn’t get a chance to read any of the other replies but I’m sure this has been said a billion times, CLEANING. Who has not gotten in to their stained, rip, not for public consumption clothes, blasted the radio (to just below neighbor tolerance levels) and gotten their clean on. Love it!

RADIO ME: I listen to the radio while cooking – mostly local public radio which plays a blend of everything from Celtic to Jazz to Bluegrass. It’s a fun station… And I love the green radio!
