Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

HEAT ME UP! It is cold in Wisconsin so we use lots and lots of blankets and quilts wrapped around us as we snuggle with our hot chocolates!

We don’t have a fireplace in our house, so we drink lots of hot chocolate and cuddle under fun blankets. Our wonderful parents got us a cappuccino machine for christmas, so now we are warm and caffeinated! :)

I stayed warm by leaving chilly DC weather to visit my family in San Diego for 10 days over Christmas! As you guys would say, “woo to the hoo!” ;)

Heat me up! We put that window-sealing tape-and-shrink plastic over the windows in our apartment, plugged up holes in our crooked door with foam, and cook casseroles while hanging out in the kitchen if it’s particularly cold!

Every winter I wish we had a built in fireplace so badly, this would be an amazing substitute.

Heat Me Up! It has been very cold in the midwest and I live in an old non-effecient home so staying warm takes layers and lots of baking (as the oven warms the house and the baked goods are a bonus!)!

We’re in North Dakota, so it’s freeeezing here! When I woke up this morning, it was 12 below. Yikes.
I prefer to keep our thermostat set at about 68, so to keep warm, we pile the blankets on the beds, wear slippers, put on zip-up sweatshirts, and leave the oven door open after baking (you’ve already paid for THAT heat, afterall!).

HEAT ME UP! Wow – this is THE giveaway I’ve been waiting for. Our downstairs is always cold, part of our upstairs is always hot, some rooms never get any heat (or A/C). Can you say aargh? An Air & Water electric fireplace, in the hearth of our non-functioning real fireplace, will take care of that problem thank you very much :-) Until then, it’s extra blankets, lots of hot tea, and socks+slippers.

    HEAT ME UP!!!

We’ve had some seriously chilly days…and sadly, sometimes the electricity goes out in this area when there is a strong wind…and we live less than an hour away from Chicago (the Windy City) so there is always wind.

On days when it’s cold and the electricity is out, we use candles for light and a little bit of heat – and then I bake cookies (thank goodness for a gas stove).

I have to admit, as awesome as an electric fireplace is…I’d almost rather it be a wood stove. At least that would work when the electricity goes out! And that dimplex Lincoln one is beautiful!
