Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

    HEAT ME UP!

The best way I’ve found to stay warm is to actually travel somewhere colder for a bit (long enough to acclimate to their particular brand of cold… just got back to NC from NYC). It makes you appreciate your own warmth at home all the more…

But we do keep lots of blankets and throws on hand this time of year, and sleep in the sleeping loft instead of on the ground level.

HEAT ME UP! Our house was so drafty… my husband went around and insulated all of the windows. It’s better now, but we were just talking about how it’d be nice to have an electric fireplace.

    HEAT ME UP!

We don’t have a fireplace in our living room so we’ve been using blankets to keep warm! I would LOVE to win this!

    Thanks for the chance! :)

    Gah! HEAT ME UP!

We need one of these… we’re in a little ranch up in New England with electric heat, freezing our bums off to save a penny! Electric heat is the worst. So we do pretty much everything (heat blocking curtains, lots of throws and even a space heater)!

We’re cheap, we keep our heat at about 62 degrees and just pile on the down comforter on our bed and blankets on the couch.

Oh my goodness, could we use this! Our 109 year old wood floors have no insulation underneath them, so it’s pretty much slippers or frostbite toes around here :-).

    HEAT ME UP!

Our boiler furnace uses oil & every time it gets super cold, it gels a little…which means it doesn’t want to stay on! So we take turns going down to the basement & ‘pushing the button’ (I’d rather be on a tropical island!) to reset it. & as extra security, we have a few space heaters going. :-)

    HEAT ME UP!

We’re near Chicago, IL and it has been FREEZING!!!! We have a two floor house with an open loft, so ALL of our heat rises to the second floor. So, that’s where we’ve been spending our extra time. HOWEVER, winning the Lincoln model would definitely give us the incentive (and added warmth) to hang out downstairs more often :)

chicago is very cold as usual. we keep the thermostat at a cool 67 (down to 60 when we’re out during the day and at night)to save money, so I know all the tricks for staying warm! lots of layers ~ sweaters, hats, scarves etc – yes even indoors! hot tea, and the occasional burst of push ups/jumping jacks/dancing always works!

    Heat me up!

My pre-Titanic studio doesn’t have heat, and last year’s snowmageddon showed that Washington, DC, gets pretty cold for a pretty long time! Cozying up with my hot tea to something actually emitting heat would be truly lovely… Though my office does enjoy the extra baked goods as I use my oven frequently to warm up the apt.
