Fab Freebie: Sew Simple

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!

I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?

Singer One Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of SINGER.

    SEW ME!!!!

I would have to say that I’m around the 4 mark. I’ve made Halloween costumes, but only those not requiring perfect stitching. I could probably hem curtains or make a wonky bag, but that’s about it.

    Please SEW ME!

I’m a one, but come from a long line of women that sew. It is in my genes, so I just need a user-friendly machine now to tap into my hidden talent.

    SEW ME!

I would say a 4. I started sewing about 2 years ago with a cheapo machine to see if I could do it. I’ve pushed that machine to the limits between the curtains and other house projects.

I’m probably about, oh, a 3 or so. I can sew somewhat straight lines but I dream about the day I can make a quilt…even if it would be a bit wonky. :D

I would have to say I am a 1 on the sewing continuum. However, I have an entire pinterest board dedicated to “When I learn to Sew”. LOL When I finish my degree – I plan on starting to learn. This singer sewing machine would definitely help!

Love love love your blog. I just bought your book and LOVE it too! I would post-it note the projects I want to try but I would probably end up post-it noting the entire book. haha.

I am definitely a 1 on the sewing scale and can honestly say that I haven’t sewn anything since middle school home-EC classes. I’ve been wanting to learn though so that I can make many of the cool projects I find on Pinterest. :-)

I’d say maybe a 2 or a 3. I love your blog. I wish it was easier for me to just dive into projects. I usually spend all my energy worrying about how it will turn out. I have managed to make a couple of baby quilts and we recently painted our loft so I’m making baby steps towards being a better DIY-er. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!

SEW ME! I’d say I’m around a 3 or 4. I’ve made a few sewing projects before, but I’m no expert. I’m constantly amazed when people can sew tailored items, like a blazer or something. I’ve actually been wanting to get a sewing machine for a couple of projects (like a t-shirt quilt!) but haven’t gotten around to doing that yet. This is an awesome giveaway – thanks guys!

SEW ME! I think I could excel at sewing only if I had a really good machine that’s user-friendly. I’ve borrowed machines before and the instructions always stumps me. Consequently, my ex-husband and boyfriend always did the sewing portion! LOL. I’d love to win this machine, it looks so easy and I could finally practice. I’d love to make a quilt one day.
