If you guys haven’t heard of papernstitch before, you’ve gotta check it out. It’s another great online source for handmade art (prints, photos, knits, etc) that’s curated monthly to exhibit a fresh crop of handpicked artists for you to shop and draw inspiration from. This week, papernstitch is giving away a set of four photographic prints from one of their favorite photographers: Allison Trentelman of Rocky Top Studio. Allison is a nature photographer whose snowy birds and forest floor photo collections almost feel like they were shot in some fairy tale world (actually the Maine coast – but we still wouldn’t be surprised to spot a nymph or two in the background). We love that they let you bring both a bit of nature and lighthearted whimsy to your walls.
So here’s how you can score a dose of outdoors for your indoors this week:

Can I say both? You see, we live in Canada… where it gets cold :) When we lived on the west coast, it was almost always outside. Now that we live in a central province, with cold, cold, cold temps, we love outside during warm months and inside during the cold ones.
My absolute favourite thing to do outside is walk with our dog. It gives me a moment to take a break from the media-filled, fast-paced, make-money life and enjoy simple pleasures.

I grew up in Maine! We had 40 acres of woods (and some swampland) and I was homeschooled, so I would spend my free time (which I had a lot of) romping around in the woods and the fields by myself! Also, there was a little spot way out with a big roack under a tree and my dad would take me out there to have mini picnics every once in a while. There’s nothing I love more than being outdoors in Maine, no matter what season it is! (I live in Florida now, so it’s pretty unreasonable to be outside 70% (or more) of the year.
