If you guys haven’t heard of papernstitch before, you’ve gotta check it out. It’s another great online source for handmade art (prints, photos, knits, etc) that’s curated monthly to exhibit a fresh crop of handpicked artists for you to shop and draw inspiration from. Might we suggest bookmarking it for your upcoming holiday gift shopping?
This week, papernstitch is giving away a set of four photographic prints from one of their favorite photographers: Allison Trentelman of Rocky Top Studio. Allison is a nature photographer whose snowy birds and forest floor photo collections almost feel like they were shot in some fairy tale world (actually the Maine coast – but we still wouldn’t be surprised to spot a nymph or two in the background). We love that they let you bring both a bit of nature and lighthearted whimsy to your walls.
So here’s how you can score a dose of outdoors for your indoors this week:
- PRIZE: Set of four 7″ x 7″ prints (Tufted Titmouse, Little Mushrooms, Droplets and Pixie Cup) from Rocky Top Studio courtesy of papernstitch.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “OUTSIDE PLEASE” or “INSIDE PLEASE” because…
- BONUS QUESTION: …this week we wanna know if you consider yourself to be more of an outdoorsy or an indoorsy person. Is your perfect day spent out in the sun, surrounded by nature- maybe even camping under the stars? Or would you prefer being inside – maybe shopping somewhere, checking out a museum or movie, or even just snuggled in the comfort of your own home?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 25th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: To anyone, anywhere!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!
PS: Stay tuned for a generous discount from Rocky Top Studio when we announce our winner on Thursday. Let’s call it a little Thanksgiving present…

Spring is my fave time of year, but I love a long hike in the woods during Fall. The earthy smell of dirt and leaves is my favorite at that time of year. Can’t resist a good day at the beach or a leisurely outing in a boat on the lake in the summer, either. Winter is my least fave, but i’d rather be skiing down the mountain than sitting on the couch!
I love to hike!

Inside Please! but close to a window :) snuggled up by a fire
I love camping and being outdoors. BUT – there is also a plae in my heart for curling up inside on a snowy day with a good book or movie. :)
oh my am i the first to comment! neat!
i love being outdoors! fresh air!
If its sunny outside- whether cold or hot or in-between- I LOVE getting some fresh air!
I prefer to be snuggled under blanket with the gas fireplace lit. It’s so cozy! I could spend every day like that!
Although I tend to spend a lot of time at home, having the Mediterranean 4 miles away makes me long for time at the beach, sailing…
OUTSIDE PLEASE – I love sitting on my patio and viewing the flowery shrubs and landscaping in our backyard. Throw in a book and a glass of lemonade and you have yourself a perfect afternoon.
INSIDE PLEASE! I am definitely an indoor girl… never been camping that didn’t involve a lodge or cabin! I definitely prefer the luxuries that staying indoors provides. I’d much rather curl up inside with a book or a movie.

I just love being outside! Whether it’s sitting around the fire, hiking, or four wheeling, I find the outdoors energizing!
Having grown up in Colorado I love the outdoors, sleeping underneath the stars with a view of the Continental Divide is magical!
Now living in an indoor friendly city in south Texas, any breath of fresh air *cough* beautiful pictures *cough* is a welcome change and reminder of my true love, the outdoors!

i love being outdoors, even growing up in Minnesota where more than 6 months of the year are white (read: covered with SNOW!). i grew up camping, hiking, biking, taking my favorite books outside to read at the top of the apple tree in my parents’ backyard. it was (and still is) beautiful up there! and i would LOVE to bring a bit of Allison’s wonderful artwork into my home in Florida to recapture what i’ve left behind.
I’m not what you’d call an “outdoorsy” person, but I find that on weekends where I’m stuck inside doing chores or making dinner, all I need to reinvigorate myself is to go for a walk outside.
Oh, #1 never gets the prize… lol
OUTSIDE PLEASE! I love doing whatever I can outdoors for as long as possible. And on bad weather days, I still try to bring the outdoors in whether it’s just the view through the 8 windows in my living room, or the skylight in my bedroom, open doors, etc.
What beautiful prints!

OUTSIDE PLEASE. I am a huge fan of those crisp, Fall days where you need a light coat but can stay out and play all day.
I just bought a horse!!
OUTSIDE PLEASE…although actually my perfect day would be outside and inside. Probably would enjoy some sunshine at my favorite coffee shop, read outside, catch a movie, spend some time in the garden and then some time cooking in the kitchen.
While there are plenty of indoor activities that I enjoy, I love being outdoors. Running, hiking, kayaking, biking – but please don’t make me camp!
Adriene S. says
I love watching movies and hanging out in the comfort of my own home but when it isn’t raining, I like to take advantage of the fresh air.
I just bought a horse :)

I spend too much of my time inside in front of my computer. My antidote to that is to get outside even if it just to pull weeds in my garden!
Outside please! I love watching and photographing wildlife, especially birds. Thanks for the contest and the introduction–I’m off to the website to check out more of Allison’s work!
Outside Please!! With winter on its way, I can’t wait for walks in the snow…
OUTSIDE Please!!! I am definitely an outdoorsy type of person. I don’t like exercising in the gym…I love going hiking and enjoying the views.
Natalie G. says
I love hiking with my husband and dog – my pack is at its best when we play together outside.
I like spending a nice day outside either reading in my hammock, going for a long walk downtown, or going to the beach. Being outside and close to nature reminds me of why I’m alive!
Amanda in Boston says
OUTSIDE PLEASE! I’d rather be outside walking my dog, skiing, or hiking! I’m a fair weather girl, so if it is freezing I’d rather be inside by the fire!
Michelle L. says
Inside Please…because I love a cup of hot apple cider, a snuggly blanket and a holiday movie to share with my husband.
I’m probably more of an inside person on a daily basis. I love cooking a meal and entertaining. However, I’ll never say no to a beach day.
OUTSIDE PLEASE” & “INSIDE PLEASE”
Indoor when its rainy and nasty out… which is a good time to curl up with a good book and the fire going
and Outdoor to lay by the beach or to go camping… as long as it doesn’t involve sweating I am good to go. =)

I love being out in the sun, despite my fair skin. Running in the hot, humid weather is a great way to spend a couple of hours.
At this time of year, I’m a total inside person! Working on decor in the house, DIY projects, decorating for Christmas, baking – you name it!
Although I think it is safe to say I’m a pretty good mix between being outdoorsy/indoorsy, I think more often than not I enjoy being outside. There is nothing better to me than eating a good meal on a patio at one of the many restaurants in The Fan and enjoying the scenery and gorgeous weather!

OUTSIDE PLEASE! Anything outside in the warm sun works for me…We are getting married on the beach in mexico in less than two weeks.
Definitely an outdoorsy person!
Diane Yocom says
Am I really the first to post?
I can’t decide if I enjoy the outdoors or the indoors more, so I’ll go with my feelings for today when it’s cold and gray: Inside please!
INSIDE PLEASE…because I love my own home. I live in Houston and most of them time it’s hot and gross. So it’s even more important to have an indoor space that can be a retreat in that hot weather…and in the rare cold weather too!
Nina Lee says
What beautiful photos! Those lichens and mosses look like fairy-size gardens.
I’m an outdoorsy person, even in the rain and under the grey cloudy skies of the UK winter. I am too much in love with wildlife, plants, landscapes and the natural world to stay inside all the time.
p.s. Ship anywhere freebies = :-)))
I am an indoor gal, but do love a beautiful beach and/or lakefront. I just prefer to sleep indoors where there are no bugs!
Rachel E. says
Adorable photos. :-)
Hard to choose, but I certainly find outdoor images the most lovely. Perhaps it’s best to be looking at the indoors from a cozy couch next to a fireplace? :)
Miss Anna says
Outside please! Beach camping, skiing, gardening, hiking…just get me outdoors!
Although I do enjoy camping and spending time outside, my idea of a perfect evening is having family and friends over for dinner. Seeing them laughing and relaxing in the kitchen while my husband and I cook makes me so happy.
OUTSIDE PLEASE! I’m and inside or outside person–I like both equally.
Also, Nov. 25 is my birthday, so I’d LOVE to win these as a birthday present! :)
