If you guys haven’t heard of papernstitch before, you’ve gotta check it out. It’s another great online source for handmade art (prints, photos, knits, etc) that’s curated monthly to exhibit a fresh crop of handpicked artists for you to shop and draw inspiration from. This week, papernstitch is giving away a set of four photographic prints from one of their favorite photographers: Allison Trentelman of Rocky Top Studio. Allison is a nature photographer whose snowy birds and forest floor photo collections almost feel like they were shot in some fairy tale world (actually the Maine coast – but we still wouldn’t be surprised to spot a nymph or two in the background). We love that they let you bring both a bit of nature and lighthearted whimsy to your walls.
So here’s how you can score a dose of outdoors for your indoors this week:

Perfect day: Take a walk or bike ride, work in my garden, sit a spell on the front porch swing, hang laundry on the line, fill the birdfeeders with my 3 year-old… My husband built us an outdoor shower 2 months ago and I haven’t taken an indoor shower since! The temp has gotten down into the mid-50’s, which is a bit chilly, but I love looking up and seeing the tree branches and sky, so it is so worth it.

We go hiking and camping alllll the time – real camping, where you hike in for awhile carrying everything on your back. Since we moved to MD we limit it to the spring, winter and fall, since it gets sooo hot during the summer. We come from up north and are still not used to it getting so hot! Plus, camping is the perfect dog-friendly vacation.

INSIDE PLEASE! or maybe outside… I really don’t know. Today my perfect day would be an inside day, but maybe that is just because it’s cold and rainy outside. “OUTSIDE PLEASE!” We try to do as much outside as possible and even when we’re inside, we like to have windows open, weather permitting. No matter what the weather or temp, we open our windows for at least 20 minutes every week to circulate that fresh outdoor air. (deep breath… ahhhhh)
