Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

Happy Valentine’s Day! My boyfriend and I have spent the evening doing school work – I’m writing a paper and he’s studying for his corporate law class. We usually make a point not to celebrate Valentine’s Day and instead pick random days throughout the year to do something special.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

The hubby and I don’t really celebrate the holiday, but he does give me the same box of chocolate every year. I’ve never opened it, so he just keeps giving it to me year after year, lol. It’s got quite a bit of dust on it now, but it still serves its purpose. :)

We don’t celebrate it. I’m so fortunate having a romantic fiance who constantly does special things for me. I can these days let this day pass unnoticed without feeling deprived (bitter pathetic or left out, aaah those were the days).

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!! From across the big ol pond.

Being a military wife I have gotten out of the spirit of this day. Mainly because having so many alone. You kind of save yourself the heart ache by saying you don’t care. But yesterday I got all the corny and cheesy gifts that we look at for the month before this day. I got the heart shaped box of chocolates, flowers(star gazer lilies) and a cooked meal and he even made me chocolate dipped strawberries. I got him a memento book, filled in with favorite memories, things I love about him, favorite laughs, photos etc..and a private coupon book. It was actually nice to celebrate. Topped the evening off with a battle on the Wii with MarioKart and said goodnight. =)

Hope you two had a great Valentines and Clara’s first one no?

    Crappy Valentine’s Day!

I live in Japan, where Valentine’s is only for the men. As an adult, I have to buy chocolates for all of the men I work with. I get nothing. Bah humbug. Nothing like eating your peanut butter sandwich at your desk while all your co-workers open chocolate and chow down. Did I mention I’m the only woman in the entire department?

Even worse, my 3 year-old got his first Valentine’s chocolate from a girl at kindergarten. I am not ready for that!!!

PS. I did get to steal my husbands stash. :)

Happy Valentines Day!! :) (a bit late) this year my fiance and I celebrated our day with a lovely lunch out to one of our favorite family owned restaurants downtown.
