Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

    Crappy Valentine’s Day!

My husband and I never celebrate it, our Valentine’s day is our anniversary and is much more meaningful!
Valentine’s day is just a day picked at random by some marketing people to make us buy heart-shaped red stuff.

We were in a very bad car accident on the 12th. The car was totaled, but everyone was okay. Today we celebrated by buying a new car and because he’s a romantic, my husband asked for it in red. <3

Happy Valentines Day! Celebrated my first Valentine’s Day as a single woman in over twenty years. It was good…no man, but what can beat the Valentine love of a class of ten year olds. Yes, I teach 5th graders…they provided the unconditional love of children complete with candy, cards, and smiles!

I took the day off to spend with my 3 year old son. We slept in late, made heart-shaped peanut butter, banana, and jelly pancakes, played baseball at the park, made chocolate covered strawberries and decorated the dinner table with hearts as a special surprise for dad. When dad got home we made heart shaped pizza and enjoyed some quality family time together. To me Valentine’s Day isn’t just about flowers, chocolate, and romantic love (although that is fun too). It’s about celebrating love of family, friends, and self, which in my opinion can’t happen enough. Hope your Valentine’s Day was just as wonderful.

Hi there! I am a lurker all the way from New Zealand, but this competition brought me out from the ‘shadows’! I have been lusting after Lisa’s jewellery for years now and would love the opportunity to show it off in little old NZ…
Valentines day isn’t really celebrated here, but it is a BIG day in our house as we were married on valentines day (cue corny smoochy sounds and animated pink and red hearts! ;) It wasn’t at all planned, just the way it worked out – I promise!!!. We have just celebrated our seventh anniversary. We had a lovely dinner at home with the kids decorating the table and toasting our marriage (FYI – a 6 year olds view of marriage is VERY FUNNY). It was really low key and just perfect for us:) Thanks for the opportunity to enter. Megan
