Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. I’m spending it with my 2 year old watching Dora while he eats a chocolate lollipop from Gigi. Husband left for a business trip today but not before gifting me 2 new charms for my Pandora bracelet. I snuck him some of his favorite candy and 1/2 dozen specialty cupcakes which turned out to be excellent since his first flight got canceled and he worked from his “satellite” office (the airport) for 4 hours before getting on what he described was his worst flight ever (due to wind).

Happy Valentine’s Day! Met my husband of 18years for lunch. Once our two kids started school, we adopted the “lunch date” for this romantic holiday. It gives us time to be together without distraction. A lot easier to make a reservation for lunch at a beautiful place than to try to make one for dinner. Cheaper too.
