Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!
Not much celebrating today… hubby and I work during the day, then he heads off to class and I head to theatre rehearsal. To be fair, we’re not big on V-Day anyway, but I did pick up a sweet print from Etsy and gave it to him yesterday (I’m probably more excited about it than he is).

Due to work reasons, my fiance and I are a country apart right now :(

We plan to each go out and pick up a gourmet dinner & yummy dessert, log on to Skype, and have a romantic dinner ‘together’. Ain’t technology grand :)

Crappy Valentine’s Day! Heart Day is usually one of my favorite days of the year, behind my birthday and Christmas of course. I wear pink and red from head to toe, eat lots of chocolate, and secretly hope that this year my boyfriend will get the picture and finally propose as silly as that may be on Heart Day. He is so sweet to me on Heart Day and for the past 4 years makes a big deal cooking me my favorite dinner accompanied with my favorite bottle of wine and my favorite movie.

With that said if the past, 20 hours are any indication as to how the rest of this blessed Saint’s Day is going to go then I need to make like a flamingo and stick my head in the sand. Last night not only did the house next to my boyfriend’s house have a pipe burst in the third floor causing major flooding that extended to my boyfriend’s backyard but also while we were helping out the real-estate agent (the house is empty) with water explosion my boyfriend slipped and broke his ankle. Which means for our 5th Valentine’s together we’ll break our ritual and I’ll be cooking. Can you hear my heart break a tiny bit…

I woke up this morning hoping the worst was behind us and having a positive out look on my 3rd favorite day of the year. I was appropriately dressed in my favorite red pencil skirt, with grey cardigan, black stilettos, and pink scarf for what I was sure would be a glorious day that I’d make the most of. Sweet Cupid must have known that I needed a pick me up and delivered the Girl Scout cookies I’d ordered a month back to my office. Now that doesn’t sound so bad does it? Again, I thought the universe was redeeming itself. I grabbed my morning red can Coke, opened a box of Thin Mints, sat down at my desk to enjoy my cookie and check my morning email. As I shoved the first Thin Mint in I heard a sound that would make any girls heart break. It was the sound of my zipper splitting open. Yes, my favorite red pencil skirt that I wore especially today because I have extra wiggle room for 3 piece of chocolate not 2 split wide open revealing my heart print underwear.

So now, I’m sitting at my desk with my grey sweater tied around my waist unable to eat my Girl Scout cookies shaking my head. I suppose Valentine’s Day will not move down the charts to my 365th favorite day of the year. I really do think winning a pretty new necklace might move it back up to maybe top 10.

My husband and I will be celebrating with a quiet dinner at home tonight, and then will be going out to dinner on Thursday, which better accomodates our work schedules. We’ll be enjoying our last Valentine’s Day as non-parents this year, since we’re expecting our first little one in April. :-D

This is a “Crappy Valentines Day” for me this year. I am back in School and right after a long day of work I head to class for four hours of learning. Sadly no time for anything “fun” today, but the celebration I was given yesterday made up for it!
