Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

    HAPPY/CRAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Although I am in a loving relationship, we usually don’t end up doing anything on V-day because we’re both a bit lazy (and he’s from Denmark so he hasn’t been raised with the annual guilt if he doesn’t do anything special). And since he’s working today and going to class tonight, I will be celebrating V-day with my cat and the internet (e.g. you guys!).

Since I can’t spend it with him, that’s not a bad way to spend the day ;).

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Celebrated with sushi and a trip to the dollar store (to get plastic drop cloths, which they were out of–arggh), L’Occitane, a jewlery store, and the Crate and Barrel outlet on Saturday with my sweetie. It was fantastic.

I really want that tree trunk necklace with the initials. I have an armoire made out of reclaimed barn wood and it has a heart carved with the farmers initials in it on one side. So charming!

I hope all of you have a delightful Valentine’s day <3

I would say “Crappy Valentine’s Day”. My husband is the best but we buried my father on Valentine’s Day six years ago and it doesn’t exactly warm me to the holiday. Plus all the florists had was stinkin’ red roses. I do like Lisa’s angel wing design though – it reminds me I have the best angel a girl can have watching over her – her dad.

    “Crappy Valentine’s Day!”

Ok, so I don’t HATE Valentine’s Day, but it is definitely not my favorite. It’s another opportunity for people to feel rejected or unloved if someone fails to give them something. And it’s a money-making scheme by greeting card and candy and flower companies.

My gift to my hubby? I absolved him from having to get me anything. He was so relieved and pleased, I couldn’t have bought him anything better. We know we love each other.

I am the most festive person you will ever meet, but this holiday just doesn’t do it for me.
