With last week’s fabric-filled giveaway still on our brains, we thought you could use something to turn random swatches of fabric into something awesome this week. Enter the Singer Vivo sewing machine, stage left. It’s conveniently compact, and it’s made with non-sewers in mind – so it’s for any do-it-yourselfers and crafters who are looking to knock out projects (like this embellished dishtowel tutorial) without having to lug out a bulky machine or pore over an instruction manual. And to make your new life as a sewing ninja even easier, they’re also throwing in some scissors and a thread kit for a total prize package of over $300.
Please use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter (it might take a second to load, but it should eventually pop up below this paragraph). This giveaway is available worldwide!
I am just curious. I was looking up The Decorating Outlet and see it comes up under The Shades of Light website. Is it part of the store there?
It’s their outlet, so it’s run by a different set of people but it’s where returned/damaged things from Shades of Light are sold as well as other off-brand stuff like our new dining table (products that they use for shoots in their catalog end up there too, so they’re not all made by Shades of Light). You can read more about it here: https://www.younghouselove.com/2013/10/im-still-laughing-about-blardware/

Sherry, I think you should give it a try for Clara. They are sew (sorry I couldn’t help it) easy! She could even help pick out the fabric. :)
Thanks for the freebie offer!
So cute! Or should I say sew cute? Har-har.

I have been sewing since I was a very little girl and still sew on my mother’s 1950 Singer! I would love to experiment on a new fancy schmancy machine!
gena
OMG YES!!!!!! This is sew awesome!!!!!
(Sorry for the over-enthusiasm, but I’m always considering buying a sewing machine but I never do (so many other things just take priority).
Anyway, fingers are crossed!!!
You have no idea how many “if I only knew how to sew” unfinished projects are around my house.
“SEW” excited about this one!
Thank you :)
I definitely read the title of this post to the tune of “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” hahaha!
This would be AWESOME to win!!!
This would be AWESOME to win!!! I don’t have a real space to dedicate to sewing so I would love to have something that I didn’t have to lug around.
Crossing every possible body part for luck!
Seeing machine just broke. This would be a huge win! Thanks!
I would LOVE to win this! I have the same machine as yours, Sherry, and I’m afraid I’ve broken it. The quote to fix it was higher than the machine cost, so I’ve just shoved it to the back of my closet. I miss sewing, even though I’m not so good at it!
I am short so I always have to get my dresses, skirts, and pants hemmed.. wish I could learn to do that myself! haha
=)
I would love this!!! I dropped my sewing machine, so this would be sew exciting!!! :)
I’d LOVE to win this!
Oh.my.goodness!! I’d love to win this! I have a whole board on Pinterest called “If I ever learn to sew, this is what I’d make” Haha I REALLY want to learn, but I don’t have anything to learn on!! Ohhhhh fingers crossed!!
Oh my, it would feel like Christmas to win a new sewing machine!!!
I have to say, I really appreciate the Rafflecopter entry method. It is so easy and fast.
Double, triple, quadruple thanks for letting us enter without having to like something on Facebook, follow something on Twitter, or anything similar that most contest entries do. It makes me feel like you care about us winning something and aren’t just trying to wiggle into every facet of our online lives. Integrity FTW!
Pick me, pick me! My 25-year-old sewing machine died this weekend. And with the government shut-down, I need to focus on buying food, not toys. Your give-away comes at the perfect time for me.
My machine is running on its last bobbin and I have stacks of christmas gifts to be made..This would be absolutely awesome in so many ways…fingers and toes crossed!!
I tried to purchase two of your pendant lights from Shades of Light but they won’t ship to Canada. Whaaaaaaa!
So sorry about that Shawna! I think if you call the 800 number on their site they can calculate shipping for you and send things internationally even if the online ordering part of the site says they can’t. Hope it helps!

I would tackle some throw pillows for my pillowless couch!
Just curious – do you contact the winner, or is it up to us to go back and check at the end of the week?
We email the winner but sometimes it goes to spam, so it’s always nice to check back to be sure!

Oh man, this is perfect. A week or so ago bought a ton of fabric in hopes of making a queen sized quilt. I asked an experienced quilt maker for advice and she informed be that there was not a chance of making it by hand, but being the ambitious gal that I am was going to try anyways. This would probably make it easier though haha
this would be so good to win! It would be perfect for small crafting jobs and easy to travel with!
Totally misread the post title as On your Mark, Get Set, Screw! I thought it was pretty funny but a little out of character, so I re-read. :)
Haha!

I would LOVE a sewing machine!! I have been wanting one for a while. All of my pants have to be hemmed, thanks to being under 5 feet tall and my son is going to need his hemmed too. I dream of making pillows, quilts, cloth diapers, ahh I’d love to win this!
I would love to be able to diy those kitchen towels, they are so cute!
Oh my! I want a sewing machine so bad! Every pair of pants I buy myself or my son have to be hemmed, thanks to my being under 5 feet tall. I would love to be able to make all kinds of things like cloth diapers, pillows, Christmas presents, quilts..
I have owned 6 Singers and have nothing but good things to say about them. I would recommend them any day. They are fantastic and I am sure this one would be no exception. I hope I win!
You know what I really love about you guys, besides all your awesomeness? That you don’t make us subscribe to 5729204 in order to enter a giveaway. You guys rock. (even though I totally follow you on FB, IG and in my feedreader……)
I was going to say the same thing! I appreciate not having to tweet about it, share it on my FB page, buy a carrier pigeon to send a message, etc, etc, etc…
Baby, Oh Baby, the places we’ll sew.
would help with making holday gifts since i dont have the extra $ to buy things this year, from being laid off for the last 2 years and not alot of income coming in
Something about pretty colors of thread and sewing machine makes my heart skip a beat. Thank you for the fun giveaway!
Fingers crossed
oh my daughter would love this. I have my expensive machines that she can’t sew on by herself yet but she would love to master this one.
What a nice prize. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
Oh please, oh please!!
One of these days I will learn to use a sewing machine! YHL is so awesome to hold giveaways like this!
Thank you both for the sweet chance to win. I haven’t sewn for a year now, due to depression, (he dumped me after a 15 year relationship), but I am slowly trying to get back to normal. I learned to sew at my mother’s knee, and started on her pink Necchi machine, which was an Italian flatbed model that weighed a ton! I have a 12 year old basic model White, but someday, I hope to advance to a model with more features. I volunteer now at my local college’s Art department, in the costuming section. They have sergers, and I do a lot of basic mending for them. It’s not quite sewing, but it gets me out of the house and back to living. Thanks again for your blog, you are a very sweet family, and the DIY is super.
Thanks so much Trish! I hope you’re back to sewing in no time!

I watched the demo and found it’s sold at Walmart so I’ll check on that. Most of my sewing these days is alterations since I have to keep getting the XXXXS! I give up sometimes and wear the kids clothes, like the Hello Kitty shirts and skirts, lol. Would love to win this.
What a great giveaway! I’ve been using my mother’s 1970’s special. So special. It causes me to make ‘special’ stiches, curse special words and have special hot flashes. I absolutely H.A.T.E. that machine and would love to put it out for retirement. Fingers crossed!
