Fab Freebie: Maine Attractions

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

It’s a shame we can’t take any major road trips right now (thanks to our wee one) since this week’s giveaway has us itching to head north to Kennebunkport, Maine. That’s because Spaces Kennebunkport– the shop behind today’s prize- embodies just the type of comfortable seaside home accents that Sherry and I love. Never mind that we can barely spell the name… we still want to eat up everything in their store. Have no fear if you also can’t make it out to K-town. Spaces Kennebunkport has an awesome online shop and one of you is gonna win a $150 gift certificate to spend there. Score.="nofollow">

Kenne Four Grid

And not that we’re in the business of telling people how to spend their prize money, but here are some things we would totally snag for ourselves:

Kenne Our Picks

Wanna take home some of this beachy bliss? Here’s how to enter this week’s Fab Freebie (oh, and stay tuned for a discount code this Thursday):

  • PRIZE: $150 toward anything in Spaces Kennebunkport’s shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MAINE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since our giveaway sponsors reside in a fairly uniquely-named town, we’d love to know of any unique / weird / funny city names that you live in, have visited, or have noticed on a map (i.e. Love, VA; Bummerville, CA; Sweet Lips, TN)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Find more freebie info on our Giveaway FAQs page. Pics courtesy of Spaces Kennebunkport.

    MAINE ME!!!

I’ll have to stick with the namesake of the online shop- Kennebunkport! My cousin and I driving to Maine every summer for camping with our families would laugh each time we passed this exit on the highway because it’s so out there!

Maine Me! I’d love to win. My fiance and I were going to go to Maine on our honeymoon, but then he had to work so winning this gift card would be almost as good. Driving past Troutville, Virginia always cracks me up!

Maine me!! LOVE their selection of furnishings.
I’m from Alabama originally, and although it isn’t my hometown, I always got a good chuckle when passing signs to Possum Trot, AL.

    MAINE ME!

My family is from Jamaica and we have many places there that have Spanish names due to our history.

The names themselves are not that interesting, it is the Jamaican pronounciation that makes it hilarious.

Rio Bueno, for example, is pronounced with a long I (like Ohio) and Bueno pronounced with a long U (like beauty). No one knows hows to butcher Spanish the way we do! LOL. :)

From where i come from (india), there are all sorts of wierd cities, towns and village names. Not just that, there are thousands of same name towns and villages, eg, “Rampur”. There are atleast a dozen rampur roads, villages or locations in each state, which has always amazed me.

Anyways, the most memorable name that i remember is not from India, but France. While me and hubby were touring france, we were suggested to visit “condom” by another tourist. First we thought he was plain wierd or sick or kidding. But than we realized he was serious and it is one of the good places to visit.

Can you imagine being asked to see a “condom” place in the middle of nowhere by an unknown person!!

I can’t think of any funny towns here in Iowa, but we do get mocked that we have a Des Moines and a West Des Moines that are separate towns.

Maine ME! I grew up in Mars Hill, ME (rural northern Maine). I think that’s a pretty unique one. Now I live about a 1/2 hour north of Kennebunkport so I’ll be swinging down to visit this store soon. Did you know that famous people have summer homes in Kennebunkport/Kennebunk including President George Bush Sr?

I live in Salem, MA, which is not a weird name on its own. But it is where the witch trials happened so we have plenty of weirdness here. Year round ghost tours every night, magic/witch shops, costume stores, and plenty of craziness in October leading up to Halloween, which I love!
