Fab Freebie: Maine Attractions

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

It’s a shame we can’t take any major road trips right now (thanks to our wee one) since this week’s giveaway has us itching to head north to Kennebunkport, Maine. That’s because Spaces Kennebunkport– the shop behind today’s prize- embodies just the type of comfortable seaside home accents that Sherry and I love. Never mind that we can barely spell the name… we still want to eat up everything in their store. Have no fear if you also can’t make it out to K-town. Spaces Kennebunkport has an awesome online shop and one of you is gonna win a $150 gift certificate to spend there. Score.="nofollow">

Kenne Four Grid

And not that we’re in the business of telling people how to spend their prize money, but here are some things we would totally snag for ourselves:

Kenne Our Picks

Wanna take home some of this beachy bliss? Here’s how to enter this week’s Fab Freebie (oh, and stay tuned for a discount code this Thursday):

  • PRIZE: $150 toward anything in Spaces Kennebunkport’s shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MAINE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since our giveaway sponsors reside in a fairly uniquely-named town, we’d love to know of any unique / weird / funny city names that you live in, have visited, or have noticed on a map (i.e. Love, VA; Bummerville, CA; Sweet Lips, TN)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Maine Me!!!

I love Maine-my fiance and I had the opportunity to go white water rafting in Kennebec, Maine. There is also a small town near my home called Welcome, Minnesota. What an inviting place to live! :)

Valentine, VA … my grandparents go there the week before Valentine’s day to mail me and my cousins cards from there so the stamp across the top of the envelope reads “Valentine, VA” :)

MAINE ME…please! I was born just outside of Kennebunkport in a town called Kennebunk- so that is definitely the most oddly named town I have ever lived in! As far as towns I have come across- when driving across PA we always drive by a town named Eighty Four. Crazy, huh?

I’ve never really lived in a unique named town unfortunately though lots of people mispronounce the name of the down I grew up in and it’s definitely funny listening to how they say “Laupahoehoe.”

Maine ME! I’m actually from Maine, and Kennebunkport is right along the ride to my mom’s house. Such a great quaint town! I don’t find the name too unusual since I grew up around it. Now Zzyzx, CA… that’s a weird name! It’s along the way when driving from LA to Vegas. My favorite ever. :)

(PS… I’m cracking up cause “Maine ME” to me looks like “Maine Maine!”)

    MAINE ME!

I live in a very usual place, but the first thought that popped into my head was driving through northwest Texas on a road trip… I wish I could remember which oddly-named tiny town we were in. There were no real landmarks to speak of, not even any name-brand gas stations. But right there prominently on Main St. was “Rod’s Office”. We still joke about what sort of business Rod might be in.

There is a town in Scotland that we wanted to visit because of our namesake but were unable to since it is nowhere near anything… Kilpatrick. Now how do you think that town (and people) wound up with that name?

Heart’s Content, Conception Bay, Witless Bay, Goobies, Blow Me Down, Come by Chance, to name a few.

We couldn’t stop laughing for miles. Luckily I keep a travel journal when we go on trips so I can remember things like that just for occassions like these!
