Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

and my most creative idea was putting lavender buds in a self-made sewn bandana and tied it on my dogs to prevent fleas and ticks. It worked!

I really want a headboard but it has to fit under the window over our bed and not make the bed stick out too far, I’m thinking the Ikea Lack Table like you did a while back!

    IDEA ME!

I love paint, I paint everything I can. My husband says I channel my chameleon way too often (he’s tall and I’m not so he paints up high :) I’m wanting to get some neat bright color/colors to re-spray some patio furniture. Since we live in a coastal community I’m thinking bold and modern or bright and airy…

My most creative idea was actually my husband’s. We had a beautiful table runner from our wedding that didn’t fit on our table- so we placed it over a storage unit in the dining room to tie everything together. The runner matched our place settings!

    IDEA ME!

I recycled two old target canvas prints from my college days. I spray painted them gray, then painted white state outlines on them (VA and SC, my two homes). I finished ’em with yellow stars on McLean and Charleston, the two cities said homes are in. I love em and didn’t spend a penny since I already had all the materials!

It is…possible…that I bought round gray placemats and stuck them on the wall above my bed in a pattern to create a decorative headboard. If I ever get tired of it (or live in a place bigger than this rental), I can always eat off of them…

I made a darling mobile for Baby Girl’s room using an embroidery hoop, clear thread, small beads, and punched card stock butterflies I bought on Etsy (but could have easily made myself if I’d invested in a punch). It took some time and lots of love, and now it looks great hanging above her crib! AND, it was loads cheaper than buying one!

    IDEA ME…

I’m not the most creative individual, but this week I have gone crazy. I made two succulent terrariums, a few cheap decor items, some pillowcases, and a skirt! My husband and I (let’s be honest, he’s just along for the ride) want to create a chalkboard from molding & scrap press wood to keep a running tab of our game scores. Yes, we spend hours on weekends playing dominoes, cribbage, and a multitude of board games.

We bought a cheapy sink/vanity combo for the “soft remodel” of our guest bath. It did not come with a backsplash, so instead of a few rows of tile behind it, I decided to tile up the entire wall behind it and hang the mirror on top of the tile.
    It looks very high-end and hotel-chic. :-)

Seriously… what happened to Hootie Hoo Me? I was ready to see thousands of those. We took a nasty dark, dank root cellar and tiled the walls and ceiling, NatureStoned the floor and put a french door on it to make the sweetest wine cellar ever in the basement. We used cut stone tile from a recycled building supply store and bought wine racks off Craigslist for $75. Total cost: $250 Result: Looks Wicked Cool!

We purchased these awesome electrical sockets that also have USB plugs so now we can charge everything in one place. Previously, we’ve been cluttering up our computer area with USB chargers, but now we can charge everything in one place, so all the clutter is contained to one spot. It’s been the best purchase and although it’s not my invention, I still think it’s pretty awesome!
