Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

IDEA ME! I cover my box spring with a fitted sheet rather than a frumpy dust ruffle, and it blends in very well!

There’s nothing better than sprucing up things around the house. Whether it’s painting an old picture frame or lamp. It’s nice to see old boring things come to life again.

    Idea me, please.

I am so not creative. I am resourceful, though. I love to “repurpose” items….like turning one side of a wardrobe into a gift wrap center…using cardboard rolls to slide ribbons and paper onto to store in plain sight, hooks for scissors and tape and everything is easily accesible but behind a closed door.

I used an old calendar for art in my daughters room. I glued it to canvases with the sides painted aqua and then stapled ribbon to each of them to hang them in strings of 3. I get tons of compliments on it!

My best idea as of late is to buy a white IKEA slipcovered chair and dye it. We have been searching for a fun colored chair for our living room but the ones we’ve liked have been way out of our budget. This way, I can spend a little and get the result I’m looking for!

I’m buying the chair this week! Wish me luck!

My most creative idea was installing a DIY beadboard backsplash in our kitchen and adding cute little corner shelves next to the windows. We bought decorative shelving brackets which we turned horizontally. They fit perfectly in the small space and created an awesome spot for candles, flowers, etc!

IDEA ME! I’m not uber-creative (like some these fantastic commenters), but I do try really hard to be creative and use what I have — repainted shipping crate as toybox, Goodwill frames freshened with paint, handmade (“borrowed”) decorations, etc. Maybe someday I’ll develop a bit more of my own creativity…

Most of my creative ideas involve storage solutions. I use over the door shoe storage bags on almost every door in the house for maximum storage of small things that usually get lost.

    IDEA ME!

I needed a piece of art work for above my bed – but didn’t want to spend any money. I took an old (big) frame and gave it a quick paint job with a bright color. I then painted a canvas using…well, paint and painters tape. Then I hung the picture in the middle of the frame. Love it! Adds color and was FREE!

IDEA ME! Most creative idea was to make paper butterflies out of my daughters’ finger painting. I didn’t have the heart to throw away all their work, but our fridge was maxed out. So, I used a butterfly template from The Paper Source, and now their room is essentially a butterfly garden. They take pride in knowing it’s their work up on the wall, and I love how organized and beautiful it looks!
