Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

    IDEA ME!

I’m not the most creative person in the world, but I have done one thing to keep the spirit of my daughter’s first bedroom alive… I painted her nursery in two shades of pink and she loved the room for the past three years. I’m in the military and have to move and make my house more appealing to buyers. I have painted the room a neutral color, but purchased many frames and painted them with the same exact colors used in her original bedroom. She still has a little piece of her first bedroom to take with her from duty location to duty location!

The dogs kept licking the crud out of our 3 month old son’s face when he was doing tummy time on his play gym. I got a package of those foam squares and all his toys are on there now, we trained the dogs to not step on those squares. An $11 Ross Dress for Less purchase and we can control the amount of puggle kisses Lloyd gets. :)

IDEA ME! I think my most creative moment so far has been designing and building (a.k.a. helping my husband build) a 10’x6′ deck with a built in sandbox (with a lid to protect it from the weather/animals) for our sixteen-month-old son. We were just stationed in Pearl Harbor (from VA) in May of this year, and the little guy needed something to keep him happy in our small, fenced-in backyard. (We had no outdoor toys or anything, just things on the other side of our fence for the boy to try to grab.) This deck is everything I had hoped it would be, and then some. We love it, he loves it, and I smile every time I look at it.

I don’t feel like I have been very creative lately but I am happy with some burp cloths and bibs I have created for friends and my son, James. My recent idea is to have a New Orleans Saints logo fleur de lis and the saying “Who Dat? James Dat!”
You kind of have to know about the Saints to get it:) and don’t worry, we don’t really talk like that:)

I had a big empty fish tank and instead of storing it in the basement or crawl space where it could get damaged i filled the bottom with blue tissue paper and hung a bunch diy paper fish from the top. it doubles as a cool little night lighty mood lighting thing. and all the little fake fishies have names.

my most creative idea was using drop cloths as covers for my patio chair seats. The cost to replace them was ridiculous, and they were in good shape, just badly stained and faded. I’d seen some ideas online of people using drop cloths as drapes, so thought I’d give it a go. I also don’t sew, so they are held together with safety pins, just don’t look at the backs!

Last week I made salt dough (you know, the 3 ingredient kind: flour, salt and water) for my kids to play with. I love the shape of leaves, so my daughter used a real maple leaf from the yard to imprint a pattern into the dough and cut them out. After baking them, I spray painted them with Metallic silver spray paint and they turned out beautiful. They remind me of something you would see at Pottery Barn.

My Fiance and I just bought a house and have been remodeling like crazy. I just recently had to tear down my stairs to get my basement waterproofed, we also have kept paneling that we tore down. I used the scraps from the stairs and the paneling and have built a few shelves and book cases.

I lived in a tiny apartment in college and had to get very creative when it came to closet space and storing things. A friend’s Dad actually lifted my bed with metal lifts that he made so I could have storage space under my bed. That was probably the most creative idea in the past few years :)
