Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

With three kids (and a dog) running around, crooked wall art drove me crazy so I used that blue tacky stuff on the bottom two corners and they stay put.

I haven’t had a really great idea yet, although sewing my own advent calendar last year was about as craftsy as I’ve gotten! :)

My most creative idea was last year when I fell in love with these tall pinecone candle holders (75% off!!!). With the help of my boyfriend we drilled them out (they were hollow in the middle!!!!) and added a ikea light kit and shade. Voila! Instant lamp! I smile overtime i look at them!

When I worked in a restaurant, we added mini banana splits to the dessert menu. I suggested calling them “bitty splitties”….I’m still pretty proud of that one!

Not that it’s that creative, but I recently made frames with my husband and my initials instead of the usual his and her’s frames… My husband liked this idea much better!

IDEA ME. I bought an awesome refurbished vanity/desk/chair set but didn’t have a place for it on our small home. I moved it so many times before I decided to break up the pieces. The awesome mirror now decorates our mantle. The desk sits in our lovely kitchen as extra counterop space. The chair sits on the other side of the kitchen in the corner next to our chalkboard door. I love that it is broken apart but the colors of it are threaded throughout our small home.

    IDEA ME!

My most creative idea ended up being my table assignments for my wedding. I was going crazy trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do for escort cards, because I didn’t really have enough time to make 120 little individual cards. So instead, I made an alphabetical list, put it into two fancy photo frames, and used that. I even recycled the frames into Christmas gifts for our grandmothers, filled with photos of them with us at the wedding!

My recent (borrowed) ideas include covering an ugly drop ceiling with curtains, and making some cafe curtains for our sun room out of cheap ikea curtains. Since we are an apartment, we need the privacy of curtains, and that way we don’t have ugly mini blinds blocking out the sun!

My best idea has been to take an old brass coatracks & paint it turquoise for our guest bedroom. We have rather small closets (filled to the brim with our own clothes), so when guests come we have some hangers on the coatrack that they can use for their own hanging clothes.
