Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

IDEA ME, yo. My most recent best idea was to install a shiplap paneling headboard and stain it. Totally anchors the bed and side tables in the room. And all of my materials were sourced from Lowes.

    IDEA ME!

I’ve been collecting corks for years with no idea what to do with them. Just bought a house and tiled the kitchen. I plan to finish off the look by framing my large kitchen window in corks for a rustic farmhouse look!

It’s not my idea… but my husband made the most beautiful raised veggie planters EVER… from his own plans. Lowe’s helped too. And, now I want him to make another one. Pick me.

Idea Me! Spur of the moment DIY – we hated out ugly off-white ceramic tile at the front door so we busted it up and put down slate all in a weekend. Messy but worth it!

A project of yore where I took our gourds from Halloween and turned them into a snowman for the Christmas season has to be one of the most creative/cheap projects I’ve done in a while. I got the gourds 3/$1. Now I’m in the process of creating another human so the giftcard could come in handy to create a beautiful room for him!

    IDEA ME!

We have a patio fiber glass back door with a window that needed a curtain. I didn’t want to drill into it so I used two utility command hooks to hold a wooden dowel that would hold a curtain. It’s worked perfectly so far, and I can take it down at anytime without damaging the door.

    IDEA ME!

We have a sectional in our living room that divides the room in half. So with this set up it was hard to figure out lamp/end table placement. I ended up running an extension cord from a plug-in behind the sectional underneath it so we could have a lamp and end table by the sectional that made sense.

Not super creative, but I’m most very of the picture frame layout I have in my living room. In one place, insted of a frame there is this 3-D Wooden star we’d had lying around. I love the way that wall looks.

I’m constantly creating, I could never choose just one! One of my personal favorites though, is a frame that holds 3 photos, the upper and lower being of my soon to be hubs and myself, and the center being a greeting card that says “follow where your heart leads”. It’s special to me because I moved across the country to be with him!

My favorite one is when I turned an old fireplace screen into a wall jewelry organizer to go in this weird spot behind a door in my apartment. It was a perfect solution for me because it was narrow and closed shut so you couldn’t see what was inside.

IDEA ME! My all-time most creative idea hasn’t happened yet, but it’s in the works. I’ve collected some ornate frame and painted them all white. I plan on attaching them together and having mirrors cut for each of the individual frames, to create one giant mirror made up of small frames. It’s going to be ridiculous.

IDEA ME! After searching and searching for the perfect dining table, I decided to try my hand at building my own (with inspiration from you guys!). I used modified plans from ana-white.com and it turned out fabulously. Above the table is hanging a clothespin chandelier, also inspired by YHL! Thanks to y’all, I have a dining space that I can truly be proud of :)

    IDEA ME!

I think my most creative solution was when I turned a living room closet into a custom CD closet for my husband (http://libbygee.blogspot.com/2009/07/latest-project.html). He’s an avid music lover and has more CDs than you can imagine, and they had been displayed in the living room in really ugly, 90’s CD racks for too long. Now he has room to grow his collection (which I knew was inevitable) and its out of my site! :)

    IDEA ME!

My living room is huge with big empty walls. In a rare state of creative genius, with rare being the key word, I started gathering vintage maps from all the places my husband and I have travelled to and where are roots are (him-Palestine and Armenia, me-Cherokee reservation of OK, Germany). It not only looks good, it tells a story to all who enter our crazy house.
