Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

We moved into an old ranch with MOSTLY new blinds but for some reason the previous owners didn’t put new blinds in the master bedroom!

BLIND ME!!! We desperately need blinds in our living room and foyer. The openings in to those areas are on street level allowing no privacy and face north which makes it super cold in the winter. We keep saying we need to add blinds but they never seem to make it to the top of our list of home improvement items.

    BLIND ME!

We really need a window treatment in our Family Room. In the evening when the sun is going down we have to do a crazy family shuffle because the sun is literally Blinding us. The window is a bay window that I can’t find treatments that are affordable and easy enough to actually cover the window and still look nice.

    BLIND ME!

I grew up in a house without blinds, but only in high school did I realize that you can see right into my window from the street…

Considering my parents have since converted my room to a guest room and guests might not be accustomed to the (unintentional) exhibitionist lifestyle, I’d love to give this to my folks to make their home that much more welcoming (by closing off some views).

I don’t currently need blinds but as for views… Let’s see – current condo, our back windows overlook the parking lot. Previous apartment, the parking lot PLUS the Metro tracks. And I’ve been in several hotel rooms that face in toward the “courtyard” aka where they stick the HVAC system.

BLIND ME! We live on a very busy street and while I don’t mind looking out at it once in a while, I’d rather have something pretty to look at when the curtains are closed. Right now we just have boring taupe tab-top curtains from Walmart.

Blind ME! Living in the Land of the Dirt people, ie the Inland Empire, we get hot desert sun and it’s not as fun as it sounds. ;-) Anywho, our back kitchen windows let in this light and now a few of our poor cabinets are getting bleached and the other cabinets are starting to make fun of them.

We live in the city, and searched and searched and searched for a house with lots of trees in the backyward. Well, this summer about half of our trees were cut down to make way for a new city bike path. We love the bike path, but do not love the fact that people can see right into kitchen/dining/living room now. Some new blinds would be fantastic!
