Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

This is so funny becuase last night I was actually standing at my kitchen sink and I looked across into our neighbors kitchen and he was standing at the fridge scratching his butt in his underwear, completely unaware that I could see him! I need to cover that up!

Blind Me!! We desperately need blinds to cover our back door that is attached to our kitchen. We have gotten to the point where we don’t even care anymore and we just come downstairs dressed however. I’m sure we give a nice little show to all the neighbors at night. Blinds would obviously be awesome for us!

I lived in ireland for a year and our beautiful apartment building looked right into the ripped out guts of a graffiti covered shell of a building. Over that we could see the river though, so it was kind of nice, but could have been sooo much better!

The view that needs to be covered up in my mother’s case is actually her current vertical blinds themselves! She’s been wanting to get new window treatments for years now, and I think if I won this card and could give it to her, she might acutally do it!

Our living room has 8 windows in it – 8! While we have amazing views of the tall trees surrounding out house, we have a corner lot so every neighbor walking down the block can see right into our house. We just purchased the house (moved in last week) and the old owners left us their ill-fitting and not appealing window coverings. I’d love to get new window coverings to give us a bit of privacy!

    BLIND ME!

For the most part my neighborhood is really nice. HOWEVER, there is a house behind mine that I call the hoarder house. The hoarder lady moved away and one day a few workers pulled everything out and filled two trailers full of junk (and the house was only like 700 square feet). No one even looked through anything, they just tossed it out the windows. Now some of the windows are boarded up and the front door is disintegrating. It’s not a good sight.

Because the houses in our neighborhood are crammed together, we’ve got blinds everywhere. The worst would be the windows that open to show…a cement block wall. So nice.

Blind Me! I once heard a comedian (can’t remember who) do a bit about the huge picture windows that often are big selling points in ranch homes like my own, but once you move in you realize you need to cover them up as fast as possible so you don’t have to look at your neighbor’s ugly yard, which is precisely the situation that I’m in. So yep, I’d love a new set of blinds for my huge living room picture window.

We had our very own “ugly naked guy” neighbor. Lights on, blinds up, no shame. He would come home from work, strip, and spend the rest of the night in the open air. Our apartment looked right into his… and his wife always walked around with clothes as if nothing was amiss.

My master bedroom currently has burgandy honeycomb shades from the previous owner. They are great for blocking out light, but I hate the color! (they even had burgandy carpet…thankfully that was changed out before we bought it!)

If you buy blinds, you should definitely go neutral!!

I would buy natural grass or bamboo shades instead.
