Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Yes, we unfortunately have a ‘naked’ neighbor. And I don’t think he realizes that even though it is dark outside, when the TV screen is turned on, we can see you bright as day!

I finally ripped down the last of our gross plastic venetian blinds (left by the previous owner) which has left our dining room windows totally naked.

it seems no matter where we live the kids bedroom window always has some sort of street light right outside – we are currently in the process of redoing their room so new blinds to block out the street light at night and the sun in the morning would be awesome

We desperately need to cover our office window. It currently overlooks our neighbors yard which looks like a junk yard. Everything from an old rusted out stroller with ripped seat to a giant unused dog kennel sits right outside our window. They covered their view up of it by using tall bushes to put in front of it but unfortnately we still have to stare at it, day in and day out. Argh!

I would have to use this for our slider, cuz the contraption we have right now is wreaking havoc on our walls! Its totally ridiculous and needs changing. Og, and we have a house directly behind us, so I had to go out first thing when we moved in to get blinds for our bathroom and bedroom windows…

We have a wide open sliding glass door. Not so bad in the summer when the sun sets at 9 or so. Bad in the winter when it gets dark at 430 and our kitchen is like a beacon of light for all to see inside :)

We have lovely view of our neigbors house out our dining room window. Our house is positioned awkwardly on the lot and said neighbors house is only about 10 ft away. We currently have vertical blinds (gag!) so I would love to replace them.

BLIND ME! After waiting 2.5 years for approval on my new windows in my townhome (HOA from HELL), I am finally getting all new windows and a new patio door. I can’t afford to get new blinds for the slider right now because it is so expensive, but I really need to block a Gladys Kravitz across the street and hate to think of hanging my old early 90s burgandy ones over the nice new door.

Thankfully, no ugly views in our home. Our large picture window looks out onto a lake and the back to our small but beautiful yard. I WOULD however like to update the blinds in our bathroom window – which faces directly to our neighbors’ side door – only about 10 feet from our home! :)

We just moved into our new house in late July. My husband was laid off on August 1st! Our wedding was September 4th! So you can see we’ve been bust and I have not had a chance to address the 1980’s mauve pink blinds in our kitchen! For now they just stay up because I’s rather look at the neighbors than the pink pains! :)
