Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!
We purchased a fixer upper (actually deemed “unlivable” when we bought it!) and have just moved in, BUT we still need blinds! On the entire west side of the house our windows give a lovely view of our new neighbor’s mess of trees, weeds, and a crumbling retaining wall and we would love to have sparkly new blinds to put in!

My husband and I just moved into a new house after getting married in September, and every set of blinds in our house was colored to match the room’s carpet! Needless to say, we threw out the blue, dark pink, teal and green blinds, and almost every window in our house is still naked! Help!

    BLIND ME!

While I love my big picture window in my living room, I would like a little more privacy (especially since I was seen by an embarrassed neighbor as I was darting from bathroom to laundry room while rushing to get ready for work one morning… clad in only my bra & panties. Needless to say, I tend to clad myself in at least a t-shit or a towel these days when I am running around in a rush.)

BLIND ME! I recently painstakingly scraped off (with a putty knife and goo-gone) an icky old faux stained glass window covering in my kitchen. The window is beautiful and clean now, but it is blinding when the sun streams in and it just looks so bare! I’d love to have a lovely textured window blind there! :)

I desperately need blinds in our bedroom! We put in temporary papery blinds last year and have yet to replace them. In fact, I ripped them off a couple weeks ago because they had collected dust and I was in my “cleaning mode frenzy”. They definitely took the trim paint off with them – so frustrating!

We have thin curtains, but…its a bit unsettling. lol

I live right on busy U.S. Route 1, so I wish I could eliminate that road view from one of the windows in my master bedroom…but alas, my house has been in my family for almost 70 years, so until the maple tree out front fills in quite a bit, I’m learning to live with it. :)

We live in the country and can’t see any neighbors, so I love all my views. We mostly have blinds on the windows to block the blinding sun at certain times of day. I would like a really great set of blinds for my kitchen window- it’s the only bare one in the house.

Since he’s settled (and I’m still renting) I’d love to contribute some roman shades to his new house to cover his windows to the neighbors drab siding in his bedroom and the bushes that cover some of the front windows in the living room!

I live in a condo where tons of snow birds rent for the winter. And one year, this older man rented the apartment in the sister building across from mine and every morning (on the weekends at least) he would stand on his balcony with his hands on his waist, a la Superman, in his tighty whities and get some sun… I didn’t have curtains at the time and boy did I wish I had!
