Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!!!
The contractor’s clearly weren’t thinking privacy when they built my house: they built the master bathroom windows facing not only the driveway, but my neighbors house as well (I can wave to my neighbor getting the newspaper at the end of HIS driveway while brushing my teeth!).

BLIND ME! Our current curtains are a strange shade of lavender and an awful fabric. I’d love to have something fun to cover the lovely view of my neighbor’s house.

    BLIND ME

We recently painted the bedroom, and tore down and removed all the old bent up metal blinds, and have yet to replace them (taking a page from your book and going with bamboo romans) because the windows in the alcove are all weird shapes that you can’t buy from Home Depot. I’d love to block the morning sun on the weekends, and the neighbors view in.

    BLIND ME!

On a vacation long ago, I remember my cousin and brother complaining for hours about my aunt’s super uber cheapness when they realized our room had no TV….then they looked out the window and discovered two women in the hotel next door who didn’t close the blinds and they were undressing and one thing lead to another….they didn’t complain about the lack of TV the rest of the night.

BLIND ME! I’d really like to cover the view of our neighbors right across the street from us… when it’s warm out, they keep one of those “half a man without arms” in their driveway and occasionally get in a work out of boxing with it… beyond strange to see…

Knowing I’ll only be in my current apartment for a total of 11 months (5 left to go), I never bothered to hang up curtains. Yes, I’m lazy, and hate patching the walls.

BLIND ME! (or, really, blind them!)

This summer I did some much needed hard pruning of the shrubbery along one side of my house. The side that has my bedroom and backs up to a strip of retail shops…and their dumpsters. It’s really not as much fun as you might think to have a complete stranger staring at you when ever you’re in your room. Creepy, really. That’s what I’d like to block.

My back door is in a bedroom (and is the only ‘window’ in the room) and is a sliding glass door with old vertical blinds (aka ugly) that opens to a cramped fenced in patio with bikes, trash cans and ac unit!! BIG UGLY

I really need this one, just afraid $200 won’t come close to covering half of a panel track!

There is a useless exterior door upstairs in the back of our house. When our bedroom door is open, the neighbor behind could easily watch us sleeping! I bought some of that frost contact paper but haven’t had time to put it on that door yet. I have however used it for the down stairs bathroom! It worked perfectly!!!

    Thanks for the idea!

Oh pick me please!! I mean, blind me! I’ve got a huge kitchen window which is great for letting in the light as well as making for ZERO privacy from our extremely close neighbors. I would love to get some long bamboo blinds to hide up under the valence during the day . . . or maybe some shutters . . . either way. I just need a little privacy up in here!

The views out of the front window are of a city park. The back of a chevy dealership. I have acceptable blinds on all my windows. My mom is the one who needs new blinds for her bay window. She told me a while back she wants some roman shades. I would love to surprise her.

We have a bedroom that gets way too much sun light, which makes that room hot in the summer and wakes you up really early in the morning. Our current shades are extremely cheap and don’t block much light, so custome blinds would be awesome!

BLIND ME! We are renovating our house…not so much room by room. More like, what we can afford step by step. The only rooms that still need window coverings are the guest room/future baby room (at some point) and the office/future new guest room. The office window leads to our unsightly trash area…ick!

My parents house needs shutters on every window! They live on a wildlife break so they leave all the windows uncovered to let in natures views. However, there are occasional hikers that can see right into the bathrooms! It would be great to fix it for them!!
