Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME! Much needed blinds in ALL of our rooms! We moved in January and have old single pane wood windows. Since we cant afford to switch them out just yet and winter is brewing in Chicago we decided to do the unsightly plastic on the windows. Yikes! I have a few left to go and would love to cover them up with some nice blinds!!

    BLIND ME!

Last night after a hot shower I realized I left my robe & towel upstairs. Since I was in the middle of doing my towels in the laundry, I had to streak upstairs. It was on my way down that I realized my shabby old blinds were open … and I could clearly be seen by my neighbors! I need to cover that up, poor things.

BLIND ME! I have some really ugly old wood blinds in my bathroom that I am looking to replace. I’m actually in the process of doing the bathroom over and love all of your advice on how to do just about anything related to this project!

BLIND ME!!! And…once I was staying at a suites hotel and they were evidently painting the outside of the building on my floor. So, all the windows were covered with opaque adhesive sheeting so we couldn’t see out at all. It was awful and made me very claustrophobic! Any view is better than no view at all…felt like being sealed in a box with no air holes ;-)

I need to cover up the double-paned windows that have lost their air tight seal and become all foggy and nasty with moisture trapping…I’ll replace the window eventually.

    BLIND ME!

We have so many windows in our apartment that sometimes I feel like we’re on display! Although we’re on the 3rd floor so it could be worse… I still need window coverings to replace the nasty plastic blinds that came with the place.

With 3 kids (ages 5 and under) I spend a ton of time in my kitchen… but my kitchen window’s view is not enjoyable at all. It looks out on our side yard where our tent trailer is parked (along with a handful of my husband’s unattractive yardwork items). I have been fantasizing for a few months now about some sort of window treatments to cover it.

I’d use the blinds (shutters) in our first floor half bath. The window looks out to our driveway and street view so aside from privacy, the shutters would go great with the slightly masculine Savile Row feeling we are going for!

When my son was young we had a neighbor that lived pretty close. One day I was in my son’s bedroom making his bed, looked out his window which looked directly into the neighbor’s master bathroom. There was Bob, in his all together blow drying his hair. I saw the rear view and thanks to a full length mirrow, the front are in one glance. Scarred for life.

We have no blinds on any of our windows–the previous owners didn’t use them. (Yeah, weird, I know.) Well, they did put these Redi-Shades up in the bathrooms and in one other room–they STICK TO YOUR WINDOW TRIM! Yuck. (We have thick curtains up in all of the rooms for privacy’s sake, if anyone’s wondering.)

My DH likes to de-robe in the living room when he gets home from work and pile all of his clothes up on the stair railing, unfortunately he only checks 1/2 of the time to see that the curtains are closed all the way. Having another shade there would be wonderful.
